Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Open Thread for June 1st RTO:

Here we go! Day one of ELT's move to get more of us to quit. Post your concerns, complaints, funny stories, frustrations, etc in this thread so we can keep the comment section active for our neighborhood ELT trolls who love to lurk here (they are useless anyway, so might as well give them something to do today). Good luck everyone, and enjoy the collaboration this week! 🤡

PS. r/st louis (edward jones) has a post from a few days ago that links this site if reddit is more your scene.

Definitely burning some sick days this summer and doing bare minimum work while job hunting. This place is nothing more than a toxic shitho!e run by mo--ns and hateful nasty women

@zf Amazing that ELT and pEnn3y really think they are on the right side of history with this "transformation". Everyone I've talked to the last few weeks about this place are horrified that our squeaky clean down home mid western value company is being destroyed from within by people who think it's funny to make single parent households lose sleep over their ret@rded @$$ backward sinister policies these last 18 months. Will someone from ELT (or one of the bootlickers) please show me the data where a company has had success by sh!tting all over the people that work there and gutting the entire culture that made the company unique? I'll wait...

The whole goal of RTO is to make people so miserable that they quit. Less future layoffs if you just quit. I feel for everybody who did not get out. I also realize the job market is very tough for all of us. Praying for the strength that you all will need to keep doing your job.

@ra and if given a choice between having a horrible commute and cr-p work environment VS Work From Home (back in their day) I bet a million dollars all these people would have taken the WFH option. That's what makes alll this RTO so damn stupid. It is counter intuitive to human nature. If you find a better way to live/work and increase happiness, why in the he-l would you go back to the old way that 99% of workers hate, and have the data to show that it isn't more productive to RTO. It is the opposite!

@q3 and probably gave everyone that had it the sh!ts. Nothing works correctly around here, even breakfast we find a way to sc--w up

@nb It wasn't a breakfast. It was 3/4 cup yogurt with several toppings and up to 4 mini quiches the size of a quarter. It was a poor attempt at bribery.

@nb nope. I'm not eating their slop for a photo op. Breakfast was still paid for us out of the bottom line, not like penny used her own bank account for those powdered eggs lol

@hb You know what is funny? We rip ELT to shreds here (because they took away our surveys) and demand answers or even sometimes honestly ask them to defend their positions. I'd be willing to have a civil debate with them, but they can't even do that! Like a petty dictator, they want to shut down all the people who question things or use logic to debate them. All they have is either some boomer talking point like "we worked 5 days in office back in my day, you need to do it too! Or "Stop complaining, quit if you don't like it!". That is it, that's all they have! They hit the down vote arrow and scurry away like a little rodent. It's annoying and down right pathetic. So I say again, where are my ELT fans at? Tell us what great things you have done here that make you deserve the millions in your paycheck?

@en Everyone in the office looks tired, checked out, and annoyed. Even high up leaders I see try very hard to put on the fake coporate act, but they also look like the pressure and stress is getting to them. Something is horribly wrong with this company and it's being kept a secret.

@hb Every single thing they have touched has turned into a dumpster fire. Not one thing has improved for this company because of them, we are moving in the wrong direction. This RTO thing will be another giant fail when not enough people quit and they have to go back to classic layoffs. Our reputation around st.louis is tanking and the only thing we have going for us is an AI market bubble to hide all the damage.

Honest question: Has anyone seen a positive outcome from a single ER initiative?

They touted faster speed, less layers/bureaucracy, more culture and collaboration, efficiency, etc., but I have not seen a single positive result. I'm trying to look at it objectively, but I just don't see it.

So, if there wasn't a single public/enterprise benefit, it's a private benefit (to them and their own goals/agenda).

@cv exactly. Was a real question. Example for 100 year celebrations they had shirts, hats, etc. was wondering if they had something like that. Thanks.

I've worked late at night, I've worked weekends. I've gotten up at 5 am and answered questions from India. Yes, it's summer break and I took my kid to lunch and then worked longer at the end of the day. Or I took a break and volunteered in my kids classroom and worked later. I have loved this company and stayed loyal without good pay because of this family oriented approach. In the past Edward Jones has given me time with my child. Time I will never get back and I appreciate beyond words. In return I gave you my loyalty and hard work. My dedication to getting the job done no matter when or what time because I believed in the company. I referred family members to Jones because I was confident they would be served well.
You horrible ELT people getting $20 mill a year clearly don't value loyalty or knowledge. To say I am devastated is not enough. I want you fu--s to know I have enough money to retire right now. I came back to the office to make you fire me you stupid fu--s. I am literally doing this right now to pi-s you off because you people don't have a conscious or sense of loyalty. Bring it.

@dj The sad part is they really think they are "winning" and on the right side of history. Or, they know they know they have wrecked this company and now have to go into panic/attack mode as this ship takes on more water.

@by Are you serious, you absolute Troll? Our "colleagues " in India do NOT go in to work 5 days a week! Many work from home a couple of days and yes they are handling sensitive client information in their kitchen half the time with family chatting all day long in the background. ELT you outed yourself by calling them colleagues. I hope you get the company fined with the lax protocols you all put in place.

@cy Take my downvote and my response to your short sighted boomer mindset, you absolute walnut. The only thing missing was a story about walking to school in the snow...Do me a favor, turn your A/C off tonight and dont turn it back on. Your nasty hateful menopausal a-s will not last. You know why? Because AC was invented to help make life easier and once you take it away after having it, life su-ks. Once you see a better way of doing thing, you dont go back to the old ways if the new way works! That would be insane. Maybe you having some heat stroke will build some character, am I right?? The reason you had to take trains and long commutes was because you had to. There was no other way to work, we found a better way to work with remote work and the only people who hate it are micro managers and commercial real estate. HBA was benefit that offset the cr-p pay and cr-p health insurance. It being taken away is now a paycut for us with nothing to offset it with other than threats of layoffs. Then, you factor in everything else this nasty lying POS group called ELT has done and it is the final nail in the coffin. A great betrayal, and you think it's just about driving in the rain? This is how I know you are a d-mb person, you couldn't even take 5 seconds to look at the big picture. You mostly are ELT now that I think about it. Every study done on this RTO topic shows it as a failure, and ELT has decided to move forward anyway. Dummies

@by JFC you people and your obsession with your 3rd world slave labor is disgusting. You have completely exposed yourself as a complete out of touch mo--n. You must ELT or GP status to come up with such brilliant statement! You know why there are so many unemployed right now? Because d!ckheads like you and your ilk layoff 1 american and replace them with 3 dodgy indian contractors so you can pad the bottom line record profits some more. A special place in he-l for ghouls like you.

@c3 what the he-l happened to people in the last 5 years? Having to go into the office after working at home does kind of su-k. But good grief! You aren’t going to war. I commuted to work for decades before wfh. Took trains, cars and, hold on to your hats, buses to get to the office in each city I lived in. Sometimes the weather was inclement. Sometimes there was traffic. Sometimes I had to watch out for pick pockets on crowded trains and buses. It’s called navigating the real world and you will get through it. It’s character building. Once you conquer driving to work, there will be no stopping you! You might even get up the nerve to go to the post office. Let the down votes rain down. Oh sorry! I didn’t mean to trigger you by mentioning rain 🤣

@c2 i take this as a genuine q from curious hba and will answer. No welcome or acknowledgment of RTO. Gifts? No. There’s a sign at the parking garage saying to try the other if full. I parked fine but arrived on early side.

@c2 Speak for yourself. No. Us HBA are not wondering. We are scared for them. Concerned. Sympathetic. Hoping they are all ok. But not wondering by any means… HBA = we don’t get the scoop. And we don’t need to feed their misery and make them feel worse.

Guess who goes into the office 5 days a week, our colleagues in India! If you hate your job so much please quit. There are plenty of unemployed people who would love to drive to work this morning even in the rain.
