Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

How to volunteer for layoff/RIF

Hi everyone, i know it's a long shot, but I am genuinely looking into how to possibly "volunteer" for layoff. I am burnt out and going to take a career break, but how can I be part of layoffs if there is a second round? Might as well try to get some severance pay, based on hcsc policy for years worked here. Seriously asking/inquiring. Here come the troll/mock replies, I'm sure...

@mc actually no. The voluntary packages offered in fall 2016 were to selected individuals with high service time in years or nearing retirement. You could not “volunteer” to be layed off or receive a package. It was called voluntary in that anyone preselected that received the packages could decline. I know 2 people that did decline it and remained with the company.

Send an email to your manager and copy Josh Akovenko.

He is leading the organizational restructuring that will transpire once HCSC is fully independent from Cigna.

Layoffs will be occurring as there now duplicity in many areas.

I feel similarly as embarrassing as that it is to admit. If I got a severance and unemployment I might go for it.

Talk to your manager if you have a good one.

You’ll know if you can trust them.

If you have any hesitation don’t mention it to them for sure.
