Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Layoffs info

There’s a job elimination guide in manager services on Iris with the upcoming “notification dates”, 11/7/24, 12/5/24, 1/16/25, 2/13/25, and 3/13/25; the actual termination dates are 30 days after notification date. Paperwork must be submitted by manager 2 months before the notification date, and all paperwork must be finalized a month prior. So, if you’re notified on 11/7- your manager had to have submitted the paperwork by 9/12/24 and finalized it by 10/3. They know 2 months before you do, they give themselves 60 days notice to prepare to eliminate you.

Bumping this from @iqh+1v8b0cZu for info.

I would love to know how to get a package or request a package. There was a link on IRIS but it’s not there. I asked on the survey lol. All ideas are welcome on how to get a package

11/7 is the next round. I just received an 8am invite from my boss. She never takes meeting before 10am. With 17 years in the company, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m glad to be put out of my misery.

I got a 1x1 meeting with my manager on Thursday (11/7) morning… and she separately invited her boss. So, I’m assuming I’m being let go AFTER 30+ years!
Over the past couple of years, I watched the team and all the politics of promoting friends etc. It’s a shame, I use to love working at Cigna!

Hi! I was the original poster of this comment. The info was pulled from the iris site, and just mentions “manager” in the language. Individual experiences may vary depending on their managerial lineage. My point in posting it was to give the JE dates since people were freaking out weekly wondering if tomorrow was going to be the day. Additionally, someone knows if you’re on a list or not - and it’s not just 60 days prior, that’s just the deadline for the paperwork. The paperwork can be submitted sooner. There’s lots of managers out there that don’t/can’t read all the emails, notifications, or policy updates. It’s not always black and white either, they give clues all the time of what is going to happen without out and out saying it. But if you’re so bogged down in the minutia that you can barely breathe, you’ll likely miss the clues. See how that happens? Even in this thread, they have us t-t for tatting about details and critiquing each other, when the corporation is the problem - not our individual experience.

Agree with @mbn+1vdF83UO, I didn’t know either until a few days before. I believe someone further up the chain can do all this mentioned paperwork etc, I am left to assume the direct manager doesn’t have to be aware weeks or months in advance at all. Unless this is a recent change.

Not always true. As a manager, I was blindsided a week before layoffs with a list of impacted folks. I was not a part of any decision making conversations.

Management sophomoric use of job elimination strategy and propaganda demonstrate incompetence, weakness and short-sightedness by all management levels, which does not benefit cigna in any way for medium-to-longer term market competitive outcomes or organization excellence…
