Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

AIG is broken

It went from a good place with a future to a sinking ship. Management only cares about the stock price, not fixing our old systems or keeping people. The original idea is dead and we're all just waiting for the next bad news.

Nothing has changed in over 35 yrs….i worked their 28 yrs….i still read the same complaints we had. Luckily, the benefits back in the good old days eased the pain -

Filthy high salary? What are you talking about? The salaries here are below market. What keeps people around are the benefits.

Noone wants to join AIG if not for a filthy high salary, our reputation is that of an unstable company that change course every few years and hire/fire people without a clear long term strategy....
Often they they need so much time to hire someone with experience that meanwhile other leave...
I warn everyone I know about joining from other companies unless they are in a really bad situation and haven't other choices.
