Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Career Connect data was pulled on October 1.

This was confirmed by our VP today in a forum. They pulled CC data for the lay-off assessment on Oct 1. Interestingly, HR sent an email on Sept 1 telling us to update CC by mid October. To say I’m feeling boned is an understatement.

Yet more dishonesty from our Company. Do we expect anything else at this point?

CC isn’t used for much of anything. We don’t use it when we are selecting job candidates. We don’t use it for ranking. We aren’t using it for the layoffs either. Use CC as a tool to advocate for experiences you want or need to grow in your career. That’s the only value I see in it.

The CC has never been of much value, declining every year - it's a complete bluff at this point.
The CK however has risen higher every cycle.

Quit causing panic. This definety is not true. There may be causes of supervisors not being able to keep their mouth shut, but definety not the norm.

It is part of the legal documentation strategy. Most decisions are already made. The ones they are sure to keep already been told thy are safe. If you boss has not talked to you already, you are at risk

Darn it, they pulled it before I lowered all my skills to 1 after the employee forum!

Really!! Really??!!

You are telling me that Management needs to look at Career Connect data to figure out who they need and who they don’t?

Isn’t that called “Disconnect”, when Management doesn’t know what their reporting staff do??

Fear not my liege, our VP told us that it doesn’t matter. Your division manager, who likely had hundreds of people under, will be there to help fill any gaps. What could go wrong here? No need for those pesky details on CC, some good old fashioned manager input should be good enough.

What? That’s not the ExxonMobil I know. We are full of that thing called integrity, what is being insinuated here is blasphemy. #WeAreExxonMobil

We didn’t even have our SDA discussions with our supervisors until early October. How convenient.

It was probably to prevent people from adding every skill under the sun after the announcements were made.
