90 Day WARN Period

The documentation says that I will notify Citi if I find a new job during notice period, and that they will pay the balance in a lump sum. Does that basically mean you get the balance of what is left of the 90 Days' notice period, but you lose benefits as well as PTO accrual from the termination date that you give them?

Thanks

From what i know the warn period pay stops once you tell them and they will pay you a lump sum within 6 weeks. This is coming from someone who this recently happened to.

@qr I find it very hard to believe, even for citi, that they would not honor would they put in their own legal agreement. On what basis would they not pay?

@qp

This is wrong. If you let them know you found another job you get NO severance. I’ve seen this in action. Don’t let them know anything.

@kx OK. I am in NY as implied by the 90 days notice. In the original secured email it states if you take a job within 90 days, let HR know to terminate you and you will be paid a Balance in lump sum. I was not aware they paid balance but I guess it makes sense: they save a bit on benefits and also vacation accrual.

You need to specify if you are in NY or NJ. Those are the only two sites that we discuss here and the 20 different interpretations of the WARN notices for those sites.

@gt That's not true. It's legally stated in their separation agreeement. Why would they not pay?

Do NOT tell them. They are under no obligation to pay you out if you find something.
