Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

One should neither consider their job safe nor tie their career to Nike

The days when that made any sense are long gone. Layoffs keep happening, smaller and more targeted, which means it can hit anyone at any time. The chances of Nike returning to its mythical glory, when it was fun to work here and the company was vibrant, flexible, and creative, are very slim. It’s better to stay alert and keep your eyes always open for other opportunities.

@kv that would require leaders with a moral compass. Unfortunately in most teams it’s lacking. Creating fake work and fake teams just to build yourself up can only last for so long. Real leaders can see right through it. If these leaders would admit that the work was fake and stopped promoting, hiring and bringing in ETW’s then they would be admitting that they made a poor decision that wasn’t in the best interest of Nike. The egos are too big for that to happen. Are you in Resilience?

@kx pretty sure of yourself. You must have dirt on someone so they can’t fire you. Do you work in Resilience?

You finally got the memo. Never trust a company that makes everything overseas
