Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

How is the new HR Boss?

What do you think of Michelle R. Green?

She is not all over social media like the sc-m who left. I can not read her? Is she better than Operah wannabe? We all know RM have destroyed the company before their finally fired her but her replacment is very vauge? Does anyone from HR have any taps on her and her personality? We know anyone will be an upgrade yet I wanna know more

@ra Do you really believe that JL is not guilty of self promotion? Do you work in HR? LOL. AH, CV, or even JT are better choices- they are not fond of self promotion but rather known for their proven leadership skills.

@mh Being likable is not a good selection criteria. The HRSS GM is the function’s spokesperson especially if HR has to say “ no” to a business leader’s request for exception.

@mh you have given all the reasons why the new HRSS leader was chosen. What is more telling is who was not chosen despite having more business experience because they exhibit self-promoting and destructive behaviours. That shows great judgement from MG that hopefully continues during remaining leadership selections.

I guess it just goes to show you can’t win. If you don’t talk about your personal life some will call you are distant and hard to trust. You talk about your personal life and some will say you are “yapping about all the bullsh-t in” your life. I would hate to be under such a microscope that all my actions are interpreted with such intensity. I find I am happier in life by assuming positive intent and moving on.

It is clear that MG started her reign with a strong presence- exhibiting poise, confidence, and drive. However, JL’s recent appointment as HRSS General Manager has left me with some reservations regarding MG’s judgment. There is no doubt that JL is incredibly smart, brilliant, and likable. But when considering the significant responsibilities and expectations tied to the HRSS GM role, I find JL’s work experience somewhat limited.

@kj+1jvse0dea: Nope. Let’s be honest; you know why RM got as far as she did in her career, and it sure as he-l wasn’t because of her competence.

Also, get your eyes checked. If you think MG is cute, you have some serious vision issues, my friend. She’s a wrinkled prune for her age.

Y'all like her cause she's white and cute - admit it

@h8+1jvse0dea:

I respectfully disagree with your assessment of RM’s posts about her mom’s roses, her daughter’s dating, and all things under the sun that had Jack sh-t to do with being the CHRO of a multi-billion dollar corporation during a very chaotic and tumultuous time in the world.

The woman just could not stop yapping about all the bullsh-t in her life. How much of a self-absorbed pr--k does one have to be to not stop and think that, gee, maybe not all our Chevron employees have the luxury of these advantages and feeling calm and secure with plenty of money during a pandemic coupled with mass layoffs at CVX!

Read the room, Oprah!

Then, when she started with the talk show idiocy, that’s when I lost the tiny ounce of respect that I had left for her.

It was BLATANTLY obvious that RM was only concerned about advancing her objectives and teeing up her future post-Chevron.

The biggest differentiating factor in my opinion between RM & MG was exposed during the San Ramon Townhall announcing the headquarters move. I didn’t like the message shared, but MG was poised, in control, and spoke like a leader. Never, in all the years that I had to sit through a presentation by RM, did I glimpse even the tiniest indication that the woman received any executive coaching to become a polished public speaker. Frankly, she was downright embarrassing at times. Being able to communicate effectively is a pretty freaking important skill for an executive (really for all of us), and she stammered her way through each and every speech she delivered.

So, at the end of the day, I disagree with MG and the ELT’s actions in this reorg, but she at least comes across as a capable leader. RM came across as not ready for prime time.

I never thought poorly of RM. I think it is a positive thing when leaders are real and vulnerable. Her posts about her mom’s roses and baseball on workplace during Covid were touching. I am sorry that your criticism has to be connected to DEI. So are all the white males around Chevron awesome in your opinion? Can we blame their performance on their gender or skin color?

Mmmmm, does anyone think a description (3x) below as "ruthless" is a positive for a CHRO? I would be worried.

@AS, you will be laid off first before the 4 leaders you mentioned. You talk a lot in meetings and your team delivers mediocre performance…go ask your customers and partners. You are so full of yourself.

@bx- I am sorry to disappoint you, LD has already been selected. She is safe but I am not sure if you are on the same boat. Be careful, you might be the first one on the left standing list in August. Good luck.

@bj, you can FRO. No one made you the arbiter of internet discussion. OP asks some valid questions and you attack their spelling / composition? Arrogant pri*k.

I don’t think MV and SE are on the same level. I worked for MV twice. She develops employees, cares about her people, and goes after continuous improvements. She is indeed tough if you don’t perform, take accountability, and deliver results.

Ruthless. She literally smirked when hinting at layoffs last year.

But the bar was set low with RM. So someone who is competent, albeit ruthless is a vast improvement. No "talk show" no DEI, etc.

OP, your grammar, spelling and sentence structure tell me you care little for educating yourself and lack the ability to reason with any degree of intelligence. Your comment about RM being an "Operah [sic)] wannabe" exposes your bigotry and disrespect for folks you disagree with and/or who are different. So your questions about Michelle Green's qualifications to lead HR aren't worth answering because you're here just stirring sh-t. Instead of peddling negativity, you might do something more productive, like your work - or picking up a book.

Ruthless and has been positioning herself for this job for years. Mostly by brown nosing with NH and JJ
