@h8+1jvse0dea:
I respectfully disagree with your assessment of RM’s posts about her mom’s roses, her daughter’s dating, and all things under the sun that had Jack sh-t to do with being the CHRO of a multi-billion dollar corporation during a very chaotic and tumultuous time in the world.
The woman just could not stop yapping about all the bullsh-t in her life. How much of a self-absorbed pr--k does one have to be to not stop and think that, gee, maybe not all our Chevron employees have the luxury of these advantages and feeling calm and secure with plenty of money during a pandemic coupled with mass layoffs at CVX!
Read the room, Oprah!
Then, when she started with the talk show idiocy, that’s when I lost the tiny ounce of respect that I had left for her.
It was BLATANTLY obvious that RM was only concerned about advancing her objectives and teeing up her future post-Chevron.
The biggest differentiating factor in my opinion between RM & MG was exposed during the San Ramon Townhall announcing the headquarters move. I didn’t like the message shared, but MG was poised, in control, and spoke like a leader. Never, in all the years that I had to sit through a presentation by RM, did I glimpse even the tiniest indication that the woman received any executive coaching to become a polished public speaker. Frankly, she was downright embarrassing at times. Being able to communicate effectively is a pretty freaking important skill for an executive (really for all of us), and she stammered her way through each and every speech she delivered.
So, at the end of the day, I disagree with MG and the ELT’s actions in this reorg, but she at least comes across as a capable leader. RM came across as not ready for prime time.
