Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Mike

For those around MW and they definitely check this site. Does MW know he's the most hated CEO in Chevron history? Is he being insulated from the morale crisis we have? What does he say to all this?

He knows. He just doesn’t care. Most of ELT doesn’t. They compare selves against others doing worse things. I’ve been in the room where it was said. He’s on his way out and we’ll be doing new song and dance for his successor.

Anyone who this CVX has experienced good stock performance must be a complete novice. Ask anyone who gets the LTIP how their PSUs were this year.

@kc I think you got it on the head. This XLT has got to go. Ruined this company. Hey, look at how they fu---d up just being able to work in Houston with the open plan and parking nightmares. That’s all before we even turn on our computers

@b7 Mr. DEI guy. I think I know who you are.

Oh, the stock is up… for now! Isn’t that just delightful? Meanwhile, MW and the ELT have managed to steer the company straight to the bottom in TSR, ROCE, and earnings per barrel compared to the LTIP competitors. It’s no wonder those metrics were conveniently left out during investor day. Who needs to talk about that when you can just focus on dividends and ATCF? Perhaps they should have thrown in some of our other expertise, like spectacular exploration failures, a laughably low RRR (unless we just buy some reserves), and our brilliant strategy of pouring money into AI while twiddling our thumbs. But hey, at least the company is brimming with those competitive performance roles that are definitely going to turn things around.

Kudos to MW and the gang for really earning those bonuses and stock options! Can’t wait for the next reorg and round of layoffs, that’s clearly the only trick left in their strategic playbook.

“ Sorry but with the performance of the stock YTD, I don’t think he or the BoD’s really gives 2 S_its! And with the ongoing world tensions, Wall Street is loving all their decisions right now”

Yes they must love that the stock is essentially the same market cap as 3 years ago.

@br that view would be very short sighted as the decisions made over the last 6 years and the complete lack of direction destroyed a lot of value.

@be The morale is the worst its been in my long career here. There have been other layoffs but not this ruthless and uncaring. MW has absolutely wrecked this company and needed to be fired years ago!

Well, he can have all the money in the world, but he still looks like the Cryptkeeper. 🤣💀

Time marches on for all of us, and he’s chosen to spend what likely are his last few good years in a job that draws all kinds of contempt and hatred towards him. You can’t tell me that doesn’t get you down at some point.

Those close to him say he stopped caring around the time the Board granted him his Putinesque lifetime chairmanship slot. He only dreams of bigger and better things at this point. You gotta break a few eggs to get there…

Take control and be the change you want to see. Leadership su-ks in almost every large company but you have control over how you choose to treat everyone around you. Focus on putting positivity into the world and you will get it back a million fold.

Well, if you believe in karma, some sh-t’s gonna catch up to him at some point. That’s why it’s important to have morals and not fu-k people over, ‘cause in the end it always comes back to you in some form or fashion.

You mean 'couldn't care less'. 'could care less' would mean that he actually cares.

By what measure? Been through mergers and org changes and everyone is always pi---d off at the top. These type of blanket statements are so unproductive.

Answer is no. What cuaght MW and boards attention was yours truly your executive leader of DEI (Josetta Jones) insulted him and claim all of you considered him racist and brought day light. Wonder why its gotten the attention. DEI is the center of the attention and not in a good way. Have fun with that.

@OP I’m sure he does NOT CARE. He is a very rich man and could care less about how we feel. If we don’t like it someone else will be there to take our place in a flash.
