I got laid off recently. They sent a letter saying my last day is 8 weeks from then and $k amount as severance. I’m getting paid for these 8 weeks, at the end of 8 weeks do I get $k mentioned?

Before you even think about becoming a whistleblower at Boeing.
You want to enter the Federal Witness Protection Program first.
career? livelihood?
dude, boeing literally "unalives" inconvenient whistleblowers.

From your post. How does Boeing HR get off on destroying not only people's career by their livelihood!
Boeing is not a company I would want to ever work for.
@ae mandatory income tax withholdings are 22% fed and 8% state
If you get an offer to either relocate or leave with severance pay, do you get some time to decide - a week a day ?
What org were you a part of?
I got told about some layoffs on an adjacent team, and I find it sneaky how they don’t anounce more broadly
Yes unused PTO is paid in last regular check
@aq
sounds like Nike and Boeing are going down the tubes
like many other companies
@aq sir, this is a Wendy's
Is PTO paid in full at Nike when an employee gets laid off or leaves on their own? PTO sure isn’t paid in full at Boeing no mater how you leave. Boeing is so cheap they only will pay out about 60% of your PTO if even that when you leave the company.
At Boeing if you are lucky to get a involuntary layoff, you will get one week of unemployment benefits for every year you worked at Boeing but only up to 25 weeks, no mater if you worked there more than 25 years. About 15 years ago Boeing figured out how they can get rid of people without laying them off where the employee can get unemployment benefits. It’s called the Boeing PiP or Performance Improvement Plan. What Boeing HR is really good at doing, is defining Performance Improvement Plans they slap on people that are impossible to pass no matter what. If the employee gets luck and some how passes Boeing HR will state the Performance Improvement Plan they forced on the employee was too easy, so HR will draft a second Performance Improvement Plan and slap that on the Boeing employee soon after they were lucky to pass their first one. Sounds unethical but you have to remember there is no longer ethics at Boeing, they talk it up but don’t walk their talk. Boeing HR learned their lesson the first go around when they issued an employee a performance improvement plan that they passed and nobody ever passes a second performance improvement plan that Boeing HR issues no mater what. So then Boeing HR and Boeing Security will show up to the employees desk where HR tells employee they failed their second performance improvement plan and are being fired on the spot. Security then performs the shame walk and escorts the employee outside the gate.
the severance will be significantly less than the amount listed after taxes fyi. be prepared for ~60% of what they tell you
Unused PTO in Oregon will be paid to you.
Did they mention PTO payout?
Yes, you are getting regular paychecks for the 8 weeks and then after that date you will get a severance check. This information is all in your severance information in the Box folder you should have received
8weeks is the severance. You won’t get $k at the end
