Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

My honest take on working at HCSC

Between the constant cost cutting and the obvious favoritism, this place is tough to navigate. If you're not in with the right people, your work just doesn't seem to matter. Leadership feels disconnected and the culture has turned pretty toxic. I wouldn't recommend coming here based on what I've seen.

@10k I've seen them backfill but for the same position - so someone who worked their way up to senior or consultant level leaves, and they fill that level position with someone who hardly has work experience and straight out of college. And the junior levels who have been here for years are training the newbies who might even be making more right off the bat.

@OP It is sadly turning into a dead end company. Very little chance to advance. When people leave, the job almost never gets backfilled. No promotions are approved past the career progression limit (if your department was lucky enough to get one before the 2024 major reorg. If you are at the end of your salary limit, no more merit. There is absolutely no reward or recognition for being a high performer.

@sh that whole basket of butt clowns are a joke. Mauricio. Opella. Jill. Paul. Arun.
They think we are so beneath them. They don’t give a rats behind about our pay, our benefits, our environment, or mental health. Just that our butts are in a chair so they can lord their power over us and control us.

Wait till you see their salaries this year.

@OP crazy but I’m pretty sure Arun doesn’t wake up and wonder how he can make employees feel appreciated. It’s like he has no soul. We are just numbers in his sick game of profits.

@k9 why would that person tell you that when they said it is a huge punishment culture?

@b1 what department do you work in?

@b1 Toxicity started in 2015 and has progressively gotten worse every year since then. From the summary of the new approach where badges are collected, escorted out and told an email will be received is the lowest of lows reached. Looks like a page out of the Elon Musk handbook for downsizing.

It is super toxic. And there is no light at the end of the tunnel. And before people start coming at me and name calling (dramatic, etc) - I am looking and trying to get out. You don’t accomplish anything here and it’s a huge punishment culture if you do anything less and blind conformity. The performance standards are really low and the quality of most leadership is a joke.
