Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Enough with the layoffs!

You can’t expect people to perform while there’s a constant axe over their heads. Living like this all the fu--ing time is inhumane.

BNY is a huge supporter of the Red Cross. Always making monthly and quarterly deposits to local blood banks in response to layoffs.

@k7
Shouldn’t you be 43 or 44 years by now?

@b0 OK Boomer. Go walk into a building and demand a job like they did back in the '70s, and let us know how that goes.

@k7 Who in their right mind would downvote any comments that are technically and factually correct about company layoff patterns? Whoever it is, their purpose is to distract others from acknowledging what's actually going on. This includes: terminations from facility closures, wfh, RTO policies, PIPs, offshoring, ageism, and whatever else McKinsey and HR make up next.

HR is not exempt from layoffs themselves either. So if you are from HR and you are downplaying posts about layoffs, you might be next!

@hw I’m seeing a lot more HR-like posts deliberately downplaying and agitating on topics that directly refer to “Layoffs.” There is a strong overwhelming majority here that fully recognize what RV and his stooges are doing to purge cost and headcount. Failure to acknowledge and accept this is blindness.

@hr and ive been her 20 years and a mgr majority of that time. and its never been like this or so freaking bold and not even hide the fact they are altering ratings to terminate or make people appear their performance is less than it is to take their merit. Stop trying to down play wtf is happening

I’m here a long time and there have been layoffs every year, multiple times per year consistently. The rating system of rating below a certain % mandate has been in place for at least 10 years now.

HR must be working with the Red Cross again this week while ramping up another blood drive.

It's been like that in my group since 2011. We used to joke that the HR sn---r was picking us off one at a time. Out of the 32 people in my group in 2011 there are 8 of us still here.
