Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

eSurance

Retired old man here. Question= 5 years ( or so) after the integration of esurance into Allstate, can we all agree that their talent pool was like the “kiddie pool” at a local swim club? No depth, no substance and all “look at me” show, with zero value added. Is gramps off base?

The current essurance staff is a bunch of cr-p. They do not know how to handle a claim. What a waste of money.

Paid $1 Billion in 2011 to purchase Esurance, which seems like a relatively fine deal 15 years later. A money-losing business for many years due to underwhelming claim leadership, poor underwriting and pricing, and limited operational scale. Folding it under the Allstate brand to capitalize on all things Allstate, and having it as the primary direct engine, took too long but perhaps now a winner?

Esurance was full of garbage before Allstate bought it and a lot of that garbage got tossed out some time ago. The ones left are pretty much worthless.

Esurance people couldn't thrive with the allstate dinosaurs.

It's telling that most of them have left and moved onto better things.

Meanwhile current and past allstate lifers making posts like this.

5 years and you post this now because….? Holding a grudge? I see a lot of people in company and outside hires that got rush promoted and don’t have skill set needed but think they know it all. Friends hire/promote friends. (Good luck if you aren’t one) “Fake it til you make it” but too many fakers all around who know the buzz words but not the job.

Sounds like someone from esurance got the promotion or raise and you didn’t.

Most of the original eSurance employees I have been in contact with are not pleasant and quite unskilled. Really the company should have cut them loose. More dead weight.

Interesting take by the OP. The responses thus far are consistent with the OP take.

Enjoy your retirement, you earned it! Please don't pay attention to the obnoxious comments, Allstate has a department that monitors social media, and tries to nullify any negative comments.
No, you are not off base, most of the current "Team Leads" got their position due to nepotism, they have zero talent, they will steal others work and ideas.
