Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Another one bites the dust... Optum Insight CEO out!

Girls night! Did ya get the email? Divvy's out! Pretty sudden, too. This on top of all the shuffling of other top brass. Lisa had the right idea. Vivian may have gone willingly, but was likely a witty casualty.

Can't say I blame them, I wish all the best. I'll be thrilled to be the next rat fleeing this sinking ship.

WHO's NEXT?!?

@22v Candyman is going to crater revenue and margin. He doesn't know healthcare. He doesn't know how to run a business. He only knows fear and barking vague orders 100x at bloated, disorganized Indian teams and some stuff gets done. He might not last long into 2026 and may be the last CEO of OI as we know it.

His boss Paddy[wagon] knows healthcare a little bit as a practitioner and his inpatient experience for substance abuse and mental health. But he's a goofball that knows nothing about business.

His boss Steve-o still thinks it's 1980 and his accumulation of HMOs could ONE DAY take over as the Private Single Payer for all of merica!!!11!!one!!1!!eleven! His penchant for layoffs and sc--wing employees deserves a house call from Cousin Eddie.

No one will admit AI is way overhyped and cost will crash as more and more entrants run circles around us rendering the whole UHG business outdated and useless.

Maybe, just maybe, there's a pension fund manager, hedge fund, or VC/PE guy that can peek under the hood because clearly Berkshire is in on the ponzi scheme or just as d-mb.

we can only hope that the curse of being OI CEO disposes of the candyman like all the others before him. nobody at that position has done well

DS had to go because she had no clue. It doesn't matter whether she went on her own or was pushed out. Anytime they appoint a leader who has no clue about healthcare, its already obvious it wont end well. OI is a Frankenstein's monster, cobbled together by mindless acquisitions. Their entire strategy has been to gobble up companies that have a monopoly on the payment platforms that interface between providers and payers and then do financial window dressing by routing everything through Ireland. Routing business through Ireland is borderline financial fraud, it works if you want to save tax on massive profits, but when you don't make massive profits, then its just stupidity.

Good on Divvy's exit. Just another person with the nod and shake who has a consistent 100% self-interest. Tired of the very obvious 'east' boys/girls club who oust those with skill and merit in favor of those with the same below average work product.

@jn she just got the new shiny title of OI+OFS CEO. I don't think she "just moved on". We are circling the drain from a product perspective and our competition is eating us alive. She gutted the c suite, brought in her own people and now she is gone. The dumpster fire continues to burn bright!

If you look at her linkedin she only sticks around two years before moving on.

@fr It says “I am no more with the organization….” what happened? Fired or mutually agreed separation? She was the hero in last share holder call.

@e6 There are a TON of personnel/org changes behind the scenes as the deck chairs are shuffled. Some announcements are held up to release in sequence. Others will not be announced. DS replacement is a placeholder until a bagholder/true believer within the org will take over OI/OFS

Some divestitures, too. Nothing exciting like "gumbint is making us sell RX" or BH told us to split UHC/Optum to unlock value and double the share price, just boring stuff here and there that won't truly move the needle or prevent the slow decline of for-profit American healthcare.

Still no formal announcement? And it’s not in the news yet. You sure?

It is true. Higher level leaders for a formal org announcement but were told to share it with their teams. No email blast. Just like when the UHG exec left a few months back in July.

Closed doors, opaque, and endless hatchets falling is the way of the current UHG ceo and his buddies he is installing like the new one running OI.

I expect gigantic layoffs once the 2026 contracts with e&i and c&s conclude.

speaking of ladies, I've had money on the CPO leaving.

She's had an uphill battle to change culture since day one, many hate her but the bootlicking could mop the Superdome 100X, no strategy other than "moar AI," competitors are eating our lunch, and leadership/re-org rollercoaster means she could get cut involuntarily at any moment.

She was good buddies with Divvy - could go together.
