Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Smith Consulting Group acquisition

Can somebody plz enlighten me why Fiserv keep acquiring companies indiscriminately? We havent reported any profitable earning reports, yet the employee bonuses and incentives are crumbs compared to the money the money the administration say they dont have but spend in these buys.

@jm Just out of curiosity, do you and your colleagues at Smith plan to leave Fiserv again given the lack of incentive and commitments, or are you planning to stay?

Happy for Darren but not for others

@jm everyone ate Youtube became instant millionaires when Google acquired them. We get an "unlimited" PTO policy and a lifetime of anxiety and stress. Wheeeeee.

I am one of those returning to Fiserv. It is definitely with mixed emotions. Fiserv laid us off saying off shore could replace us. They couldn't, so they rehired us through SCG, and it was fantastic. None of us want to return, especially with no incentive or commitments from Fiserv. While Fiserv is acquiring a wealth of returning knowledge, we are not happy with this development. (PS - There is nothing to integrate with this acquisition. It's product/system expertise that is being brought back under Fiserv.)

But when will the company find the funds for a decent retribution in bonus or RSU? Honestly even start up companies reward better their employees and they make far less money. It completely su-ks about fiserv.

Many of them were based in Lake Mary and were told to relo to BH or else. So they went to Smith. Let’s see if leadership repeats FB’s folly.

Exactly ee+1k662w70v. I was an expert on the original FD platform who left and there is no incentive they could dangle that could make me return. Money vs mental well-being is a no brainer -- but I do miss the fine people I worked with!

If those people left, do you believe they want to be at Fiserv? What makes you believe they won't just leave again? And now there is yet another company/set of systems that need to be integrated.

There are a few of these companies that ex fiserv people went to. I hope fiserv buys the other big one. This is fantastic news for our clients. So much institutional knowledge was lost and is now returning.

This acquisition makes sense. A lot of smart and talented ex-Fiserv people will be returning. It’s a quick way to begin to increase the institutional knowledge that FB destroyed.

This particular acquisition is an attempt to replace the institutional knowledge that has been let go over the last 4 years. Good luck!
