Store manager not working schedule

I am curious to know how many store managers who don’t work a full schedule. Ours does not work a weekend, any big sale days, or any holidays. They take more PTO than they’re supposed to.How are they getting away with this? Where is the store manager schedule posted so the DVP can see what they are supposed to be working?

@ae or they act like they are “working” by sitting on the phone talking bad about their colleagues and other managers all day. Guilt trip everyone to work long hours because we are salaried and do not have a set time.

At my store, the store mgr. doesn’t close, doesn’t work weekends and doesn’t work holidays. We also have other workers that don’t close and don’t work on Sundays. Therefore, other people have to work more than their fair share of closing shifts and Sundays.

My store manager generally doesn't work Sunday unless folks are on PTO and we need the coverage. Other than that, he's there and invested in the store. He's the 4th manager I've worked under. Far and away the best of the 4.

My store manager works 6 days a week thinking he can save a sinking store. Pretty sad to watch.

When you start seeing store managers, work less than 40 hours, leave early, take back to back vacations, come in late to work, it means the company is on its way out. Especially in a big box retail store. If the DVP does not care, that's even more of a red flag. I would start looking elsewhere for a job......Fast...!

My Store manger works 3days a week. And schedules their vacations back to back. I swear they were only here for 1week last month. Comes in around 11am and leaves at 3pm. Id report her but its most likely our store is closing next year.

Prefer my Severance than drama.

I work on the East Coast and the same thing happens at my store. Originally when the DVP started, she requested the STMs to send a copy of their schedules. I’m assuming that is no longer happening because my store manager changes her schedule weekly and leaves when she wants. The Divisional AP leaders need to investigate all of the STMs….And we will see how many of them have a job afterwards. It’s must be nice to get paid 6 figures and sit in the office all day on social media and then leave when they want or not show up at all.
