@jy she was a disaster then, seems like she’s still a disaster now
@jy yeah well if you're at fp that's a whole different kettle of fish. You guys have your own weird a-s problems. No wonder they're trying to shut down EA campus forever. ES has had the same d-mb culture forever and if they think it's a matter of replacing the people, then they're eeejiits. They're all just going to make the same mistakes and come to the same conclusions and it will happen again and again and again. Doesn't matter how many CEO's you change or if you call some poser the chief creative faker. The path still leads down the same road. Now if you're going to ask me if I'm so good at pointing this out how come I don't propose a solution? Dude that's not my effing job. And I could care less if this place goes up metaphoric flames. But the fact that no one steps back far enough and thinks hmmmm maybe there's a reason why we do this cr-p every so and so. And maybe there's a better way to do this. But nooooooooo all those people that are getting exec salaries pretending to care are just padding their bank accounts and worrying about their monthly Porsche payments. So pardon me if I don't give to drops of fecal matter.
@ja I’m not saying it’ll get better, I’m saying it was a lot worse not to long ago — I’m old enough to remember when they hired that woman who is the current CEO of Cr--ker Barrel to be the GM of Fisher-Price. Yes, it was that bad.
@h1 heard that line of bs before. Seen these eejeits come and go. Everyone always says it will get better until the next earnings call and they have to make their numbers. Hah! You must be an HR stooge. Stop trying to make the rest of the noobs feel better. They're just chum like everyone else.
@f6 you talk about “wake up calls” but you must be new around here — Mattel has been having regular mass layoffs annually (and some years even more frequently) for the better part of two decades now. Just cool your jets, everything will be fine. The company at least is in somewhat good hands now.
@OP vp and above were decimated on gbt.
@ce if you were still here after the systematic and regular cuts then who do you think should be surprised about this? is anyone really surprised at this point? this place is bereft of a soul and is haunted by the walking dead. this is a wake up call to all of you who still dont think your time won't come. do you think i'm the one that fired these people? save your indignation for the ones that smile in your face and then cross your name off behind closed doors. the barbie brand needs to go. it's a relic of a different time that struggles to be relevant. bury it and move on. this place has no good ideas left. it just keeps trying to revive their old ideas and in its wake leaving a trail of used up employees.
@cb That’s not the point. You’re taking pleasure in people losing their jobs and mocking them. Take that bitterness and schadenfreude somewhere else. It’s pathetic.
@c8 boohoo. The pink machine should have been hollowed out. YNOT has to make his movie and salvage his disaster of a theme park. But by all means keep churning out those plastic monstrous representations of vapidity and the banal while you call it laughable things like authentic and aspirational. Talk about self delusion. Next thing you'll say is that it's a fashion brand. LOL
If you happen to have escaped this year's purge and still work here then consider yourself dead man walking.
It's only a matter of time before your number comes up. You can decide to leave on your own two feet or on the hr gurney. You can fool yourself into thinking how important you are and in the end you will be sadly disappointed. You only have temporary value to the company. And when your usefulness has run its course you will find yourself unceremoniously at the end of a toy career that you ask yourself what you have to show for.
And then there are those who have seemingly overstayed their tenure either by sheer cunning or boot licking. Yes we know who they are. They get paid the salary of 4 of us and add less and less to the bottom line. Aside for their constant self flattery and embarrassing a-s kissing. They are your executive corporate fluffers. Big on hyperbole trying to mask a profound lack of talent. When all you do is talk it doesn't take long for everyone to realize the true lack of skill you possess. Slowly but surely they are getting shown the door. Years too late if you ask me.
This company is doomed. Has been for a while. It has no soul and it churns out the uninspired for so long that it's lost the plot. So ask yourself today, tomorrow, why do I stay? Wouldn't you rather the choice to leave be your own at a time of your own choosing? They owe you nothing. They give you scraps and tell you you should be thankful. All while they pay themselves and profit obscenely off your hard work.
@bf ah yes... laughing at Barbie - one of the two brands that actually does all the heavylifting. Id--t.
