@5wf Jenny wasn't just useless but also came to realize was the biggest phony. At first glance so warm and friendly, and very approachable. Give it a few years, and you come to realize she was only there to back the company, and design leadership while throwing designers under the bus. I will leave it at that.

yes it’s pretty telling things won’t change at Target anytime soon. Jenny B was useless as a leader - only ever parroted corporate messages from the top. Bingka and her directors seem to have no idea what they want or how to get that from the very talented teams they mange. develop just goes round and round and round with the final product looking the same as what’s currently in places like home goods and tjmaxx.

@jw Bingka is the absolute worst and has single-handedly destroyed the home business. So many people have complained to leaders, team voice, etc… she has zero accountability and has pointed the finger at everyone but herself. Also, a pi-s poor designer with no curiosity around Target guests. Things are looking “cloudy” for Bingka…

@2b7 Totally. Eff that. I am not upending my life and work/life balance just so that these overly paid Design Leaders and Execs can make millions of dollars off of my efforts. Did that (putting in 60+ hours a week and weekends); was exploited but never again wherever I end up. No job is worth that. Especially knowing life is too short and I could croak at any minute. As you get older, you realize one's life on this planet is finite. You could croak tomorrow, and leaders and even your own co-workers who you thought were "friends" wouldn't even miss you. Trust me. Several months out since leaving TGT; you get completely ghosted and forgotten by people you were once close to.

@jw that sounds about right because she is pretty notorious for screaming at people

@j8 Isn't she the one who allegedly said (I say that because for me, it has been hearsay since I left the organization long ago) that she (or someone else in her dept. said and she agreed) that anyone not putting in 80 hours weeks (paraphrasing here) that you don't deserve to be a TGT designer?

Anyone else? Large chunks of meetings getting canceled in sourcing.

Even republicans and democrats can agree, Bingka is a sh-tshow!

@bb it’s obvious she’s in way over her head. She wont last without the blind support of Jenny. Her legacy and reputation are humiliating, even for a toxic cockroach like her.

@aj I worked with him not only at Target buy way back when he was on the Subsidiaries Team at Nike, and you’re correct he called out the company the same way he called out anyone who didn’t buy into or make his ideas work.

My teams whole purpose was to make enterprise systems and team work more efficiently; essentially we were supposed to support OBPDD management at the corporate level by making and facilitating change.

Bill could not be swayed from any of his ideas. It was almost azeolus self belief that was often misguided and because he had zero tact,it got him into trouble.

Bill Foudy was a disaster for owned brands. His bright idea was outsourcing design to vendors. This led to the vendors slapping threshold logos on existing products and pricing them to spec.

Wonder where the joy of Tarzhey went? Out the door with the trend and design groups he laid off. Not to mention hollowing out the technical and engineering functions that oversaw quality.

He replaced trend spotters with data geeks wielding ai and greenfield dashboards who couldn’t make a decision without at least 3 quarters of hard data. It’s was the equivalent of driving a car forward by looking in the rear view mirror to see where you came from in order to predict where you might go.

Guy was also an a-s and made it apparent when he would blow his top when presented with info that refuted or prevented his ideas coming into fruition. Feasibility was not a word he understood. On many occasions had to send notes apologizing for his “poor and unprofessional behavior” to whole divisional development or technical teams and the TMs who witnessed him insult and demean them for not getting his way..

Good riddance.

Also funny is that Sarah McMullin replaced him..

Bill brought Sarah in From Nike, where they worked together.

Jenny did not want to move to Mpls. Can't blame her. Kinda disappointed about Bill. I thought he was a good leader and called the company on its sh-t.
