Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Management is piling on pressure to force people out

It’s become rather clear what’s happening. The company is deliberately creating a hostile and miserable environment to pressure people into quitting on their own. Between impossible workloads and a culture of constant fear, people are breaking. If you’re feeling this pressure, know that it’s a tactic, and you’re not alone.

When you've paid off the house mortgage and have no debt - attitude quickly becomes "no F's given". Seems with that attitude it's easier to get recognition and opportunities lol.

Highly recommend

@j6 did you find that they will not give us a longer time period than the 90 I have been work from home for medical for over 4 years as well. I just submitted my paperwork I had not had to update it but once a year before. Did they say that it will always be the 90 days?

@jn I would agree with you to a point but the knowledge base would be impacted. For upper management, I strongly agree "incompetent, inexperienced, self serving je-ks". Lower management who were promoted after working in positions that they are now managing, they have the knowledge of what they are doing. I have one of those managers. The problem is that lower management are impacted by the ignorance of upper management who care about power influence among other executives.

The culture is to put the most incompetent, inexperienced, self serving je-ks in management positions to make everyone consider leaving when they get sick of the place.

I was grandfathered into “eternal” MyWork due to a medical condition 15 years ago. They now want me and my doctor to justify my condition every 90 days. The condition only worsens over time, not improves. Just another tactic to make us find other employment. smh

It's definitely their tactic...but they are far from alone. Most large companies are employing the same tactics. It's corporate America's response to all the "quiet quitting" that took place...and still is taking place. It's basically "quiet firing" now that the job market is awful. They couldn't wait for the pendulum to swing in their favor and they had the hammer.

I would agree with the tactics, but why the big push now???? My starting hours have changed to begin on Monday (1/5). With the exception of one, everybody's starting time has changed. I was told by my manager that our group will also be required to work in the office full time sometime this year. Nothing stated about being company wide. My responsibilities have steadily increased with no new hires to backfill staff shortages. However, my pay is stagnant with manager responding every year that nothing can be done. BS!!!! After working at BOA 25 plus years, I have to strongly consider my options on when to call it quits (retire gracefully or with vengeance). For Xmas, I received a daily countdown counter for retirement. For this post to come out, it seems that I may not be alone with this matter.

This isn't a tactic, it's just the culture here.
