Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

Does the company monitor productivity?

I’ve noticed some people seem to have a lot of flexibility like taking walks, longer lunch breaks to go to the gym, playing pool, or spending time on their phones. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, it’s great they have that balance but I’m just curious how that works here. Does our company track productivity in any specific way?

@j3 Except in rare instances the RIFs were not based on performance.

Mostly management relies on snitches who never see the overtime hours worked from home, or the full work days on Saturday and Sunday, or that these seemingly unproductive employees were passed over for promotion that went to a friend or family member.

@dh directors who are lazy absolutely do not know this. Just saw an entire area laid off and they were by far the most productive.

For some groups, they do. For other teams they do not because their jobs don't require being on a pc constantly.

The Manager and Directors know who is productive and who is not.

@ac we used to be tracked that way. Almost got fired once because my clicks per minute was too low.

Nothing to worry about we laid off the one guy at the company who knows how to do this.

Everyone should calm TF down about being monitored. Speaking on behalf of IT, we are not allowed to do anything without a P-code, and unless you get us 35,300 P-codes to do this for every employee, it isn't going to be done.

The company doesn't track, so you should totally keep accessing this site from your work computer in the office, Michael.

@ab Good to know. I see some employees, usually the same ones during break and thought some departments may be lot more lenient than mine. I hear some company track idle time and keystrokes and was curious if they did that here.

@ab Good to know. I was curious, because some companies track idle time, key strokes, etc. I thought ours might do the same.

How do you know people are doing all that? And no. We aren’t tracked.

You seem to be noticing a lot. Why not mind your own business and live your own life.
