Ok, time for a reality check.
I was able to land a job, in 2002 after the famous .com bubble burst. I had to drive into SF but kept a roof over my head. I never stopped networking even when working in SF. When Tech turned around I was able to get a job back in the Silicon Valley with a much shorter commute. You only have no options when you quit networking, quit looking and give up.
