Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

I'm handling the work of several people

This was supposed to be temporary and somehow it morphed into permanent situation. Now I don't know what to do and how to put a stop to it but I do know if I don't, I'll burn out and quit - which is a horrible options since I have nothing lined up. Learn from my mistakes kids and don't put yourself into a similar situation just to be helpful.

@e0 I see this same situation over and over. We are only important to leadership in the moment. I did all the same things you are describing for years and finally left a few weeks ago. Couldn’t keep working at the frantic pace with no help in sight and leaders who don’t understand the business!

I was in the same situation. I complained to my boss that I needed help. He was very understanding, so I thought, but I was let go 2 weeks ago-my position was being phased out-but it was only 'part' of my position. They didn't even try to keep me. I put in 12-14 hour days, weekends and vacations , gave up time with my family and it meant nothing.

Ask for a raise, if they say no, well, there’s your answer and you’ll
Know what you have to do.

Huh??!!! so is every long term employee still working at Fiserv! The market is bad out there. Thanks to this RTO craze we cannot find a decent job that is conveniently located. As soon as the job market picks up I will be gone. Do not expect them to hire new people. They will hire some contractor who will need his diaper changed every four hours

Don't be afraid to fail. If it is too much for one person, then not all of the work should be completed.

It is not like you are going to lose your bonus for not meeting metrics. Your manager on the other hand...

If you're going to do the multiple jobs, make them count by creating initiatives to truly transform your functions. Put it on the resume then leave for more money. Then come back for even more money.

pay the people better who really do the work and fire the ones who don't and complain.

A lot of problems working here would instantly disappear.

Gosh please just stop whining and start working hard. The fact you still have time to post so much stuff on this site means you are not even close to overworked at all.

@OP similar situation happened with me only on the Finance side. One person got fired, another quit, and a third person went on leave and just never came back because of the toxic work environment. And it all fell on me. No training, no knowledge transfer, you do your best to keep up and learn on the fly but its always the constant "why is revenue down/not where we wanted it" and the explanation was always the same..."because mgmt sent unrealistic expectations" but that's not what C-suite execs like to hear. Best thing I did was find something better and not look back. My unsolicited advice to anyone who sees this is "act your wage" and remember that no good deed goes unpunished. Fiserv has this nasty habit of saying "oh WE are the ones helping YOU by getting you more exposure to the business" but that's just corporate slop for "we are gonna give you more work and not pay you for it." Know your worth, and understand that there is more to life than being a FiServant
