This has been the well rehearsed blueprint.

@pp Yup I don't miss that
@hd plus all the politics and backstabbing to compete and stay hired
this made it extremely toxic daily, in every meeting and call
Well I was one step ahead of my manager, I sent him a meeting invite myself. That sure made him do some thinking. Love to play with his little mind.
@OP no, I will not call you in the morning but in the midnight after earning, I don't want you sleeping well.
This is why they cut focal budgets in half the day before they released the tool…writing has been on the wall. Cisco culture is one of fear, anxiety, and ruthlessness toward its employees. Zero loyalty, zero appreciation. All hail the shareholder dividends.
Sorry but the heck with California.
You voted for poor economics. there’s always Richardson or RTP
Get ready to disco 🪩🕺💃
This is the peak anxiety time if still in Cisco, the Disco is making your head hurt.
Those decisions have already been made. Now the truth comes out soon.
Watching this happening from outside is so surreal.
In this climate, I be fxxking surprised if there is no massive layoff. Glad I am done with this company 2 months ago. What a shxx culture of expecting firing all the time.
Something must be up. Team meeting suddenly got cancelled this week.
will be a bloodbath!
Usually you’ll get the invite the morning after the earnings call, usually just a quick 10 min call added to your calendar by your leader (or your leaders leader if they’re canned too). Varies for EMEA and APJC though

Say something like,
As a PM I think the team’s core competency lies in their ability to move forward with a plan that’s already been revisited three times, but we’ll double-click on that again to ensure we’re not reinventing the wheel. We need to leverage our bandwidth scope to deliver a deliverable that will create synergy, but I’m afraid I’ve already capitulated to the pressure. The stakeholders are demanding we pivot and get the low hanging fruit but I’m not sure we can capitalize on this opportunity without more buy-in. Let’s loop in the team and make sure everyone’s on the same page. Regards.
Then show a powerpoint presentation while repeating Cir-cle-Back! Cir-cle-Back! while encouraging them to get in on the action, until you're all chanting it in unison.
Then send an email with "Hope this email finds you well" and then you're safe.
TLDR: the real world runs on completely meaningless words, "meetings" and Excel spreadsheets. Worth 100k/yr.
I heard the mtg could be on the 12th or the 14th...or really any day ever. Some people might even get two meeting invites on the 16th and be laid off twice in the same day. Everyone should just ramp up their anxiety to max volume. Just be afraid. all the time.
If you're still working in SJ and are surprised when you lose your job, well...then you deserve to lose your job because Cisco has been saying for years that it is intentionally reducing its presence in SJ.
Yeah every quarter a new id--t reinvents the hot water and posts about it around here

San Jose will be a bloodbath.
