there is no valid "justification" for NOT offering a VWO with a PROFIT of $2.18 BILLION in the 1st quarter ending June 30th...

You will never see another VWO. I was a knee je-k reaction when COVID hit. They paid hundreds of thousands to employees who were going to retire within a year or so anyway. Crazy! Some (not all) of those who left took a ton of knowledge with them too. Should have been much more targeted.
@ha this is speculation. Some of us were told employees they have the golden handcuffs due to pension,etc….
Some people are waiting for the VWO to protect and possible get bridges for retirement.
I guarantee that most people whom want VWO are incredibly competent in their skills
that two year condition expires in september
LOL, don't you get it yet? Big E lays off on a 12-to-24-month cycle and has done so for many years. The day you get hired; they fire a bullet at you. The only variable is how long it will take to reach you. The closer to retirement you get, the bigger the target on you. And also, don't forget, part of the last utilities deals included a clause that Enbridge wouldn't layoff new employees for the first two years, then they are fair game for the reaper, like the rest of us. GE just can't wait to spread his layoff love to his new utility companies. But with much dignity and respect, of course.
the company lays off employees every year ....so the company isn't doing well every year????
when companies merge it results in a surplus of employees
The association is incorrect here. If things are running well, why would the company want to upend the work force? You offer VWO when things are running badly and you must trim costs.
@vv utilities hold a lot of debt, most of it directly paid for by the customers. News flash at 11.
@OP
2B in profit but holding 100B in debt
Would love a package
Curious why you think profit would equal VWO? I don’t see another VWO happening. And while I sure wish they would, a VWO is not what’s needed. The people that most need to go would be the ones that wouldn’t take the VWO, as many that need to go are not easily employable elsewhere and are just coasting and collecting a paycheck.
Many hands are up.
