Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Layoffs today?

Heard of a few people being let go. Just wondering if there was a big layoff or only about 5 to 10 people.

@aa that's cute. please let us know the last time a CDW employee was let go with no warning for performance issues. i'll wait... cuz unless people can be quickly folded into a resource action, it is a 3-6 month journey to be able to collect enough evidence and go through the appropriate processes to be able to fire someone.

if you are so clueless that you think layoffs are exclusively "performance based", you may want to check your ego and your status... you may end up with a target on your back. that is rarely the driving force behind RIFs.

@j8
Agree with everything you said.
Hard to save when the wrong people are going away.
Trying to make quarterly #'s look good as repeated bests and positive guidance needed.

Left and still waiting for boxes for more than a month+
Be strong.
It's a favor in disguise after 10 yrs.

Serious heartfelt condolences to those let go. Not clear why CDW is making cuts like this and not even sharing internally that we did it or the strategy behind it. Was nice when we treated people well and almost like family... we at least treated them like humans and had compassion. You can't keep cutting 5, 10, etc. year vets and be surprised when you have no culture, no continuity, no soul, and no sense of who you are. I am all for external hires in key strategic positions, but CDW's core competency was always home-growing talent and rotating them throughout the business. Now we are becoming "just another company". We could still save it, but time is running out.

@ge
Voluntarily left after more yrs than that.
Take it as a positive/doing you a favor if you get severance.
Why give loyalty when it's not reciprocated.

@b5 my official "separation" date is Monday 3/2.
The kicker is nobody can give me a straight answer on whether I am required to work on Monday (8-5) or not lol.
I sure did receive an empty shipping box to return my equipment today though! Like, damn could you maybe have waited until Monday to demand your laptop be returned?!?!

I would have been there 10 years next month. I'm going to be a mess on Monday

@OP I am one of 4 on my team. Our last day, or "separation" day as they call it is Monday 3/2/26.
I've worked there for 10 years. I am going to be an absolute mess on Monday.

Sounds like some of the responses people get when they enter cases for help 😂
Please re-archive.
Most contractors can be replaced by overseas contractors. Surprisingly actually.

This thread is for answering layoff questions. Not writing long diatribes on every post about who u can’t stand who you think should go. Go to that specific thread.

@br
Not only her...her team as well. Also add in all the VP's and directors who kept quiet and collecting checks while various things fell apart ("accessories" to the crime if ruining a fortune 200 company was mu---r). These people don't care for anyone below them (all talk but no action). Then they wonder why employees don't fo the extra mile anymore and the mood su-ks. Money makes life easier but it's not the answer for happiness unless you're within the untouchable clique that is current C level and thier underlings that just say yes and smile to everything (great sellers....selling their integrity for $ at the expense of thier employees).

Yes. Whether dubbed layoff, rif, resource action, role elimination there are activities happening and more end of week since some were noticed a while back and had time to look elsewhere.

A few people being fired for performance is not a layoff.
