Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Xmas eve and I am worried

Culture at Honeywell has me constantly on edge and worried about layoffs or furloughs. Obvious I need counseling if I am sitting here worried on Xmas eve.. but I need to provide for my family.
New Year’s resolution seems clear … I need counseling and an executive coach that can help me exit this trap.
Don’t make my mistakes. Leave before you have nothing left to offer

@g7 Yep, it seems the HON breakup is the real reason for the (North America only) VRIF offer that came out in late December.

New Year’s Eve… still worried. I see no scenario where Honeywell does anything but tread water with old products.

Relocation will be fun. I have decades of personal notes about the product lines with longest life… all the stuff that is purposefully left out of documents. We all know relocation is impossible without the key people who “know” and there is no way in xxxx I put this information into a kcat. Quite the opposite of course any kcat will create quite the mess. No worry. .. contracting rate is a bargain at four times old salary plus travel expenses. Double for international travel of course.

Don’t worry about this Christmas. Worry about 2026.

Just before the spinoff or after the spinoff. Reorganization and cost-cutting measures. They won’t care how deep the cuts are in the organization. As long as it returns shareholder value.

Whoever’s left. You can expect to work more hours. They will relocate everything to a low cost region with low wages

Remember, he said he can do this within one to two years. You better believe it. If we don’t make it after the target shareholder value. Who cares. He made his money and all the really big shareholders did too. I expect a a major merger for the company filing for bankruptcy. We will really be in bad shape before a bankruptcy

If they merge, they’ll get rid of all the old culture. It’s called relocation and you don’t get to go with.

This is what I’ve been reading. About Elliott management and his tactics. It’s like when you see an iceberg. What do you see the bridge says. Iceberg straight ahead. The bridge of the ship. Full speed ahead or ramming speed.

I knew to get out of Honeywell when I hit 50 years. I didnt think the company would last this long.

“ Leave before you have nothing left to offer” - I agree. My constant fear of becoming irrelevant. Gone are the days that people spent decades in Honeywell.
