Tired and Frustrated.. What To Do?

I feel frustrated and disrespected because my manager cuts me off or dismisses my ideas before I can fully share them. It often feels like he values speed over depth and agreement over thoughtful debate. He seems to take what he needs from me, then favor others who match his style. His inconsistency makes it hard to trust or understand what he actually wants. I’m angry because I see a better way forward but don’t have the authority to act, and I feel stuck between caring about my work and protecting my mental health .

@g4 or OP just rambles on about absolutely nothing just to be heard and is slowing everyone else down .

The issue is not with you . It is your Manager. He may feel threatened by your intelligence, insecure or both. It is probably your Manager's fear or ego getting in the way or worse case scenario he has given up and just does not give a cr-p anymore.

The irony that you’re actually rambling in your post says everything about what your team and manager deals with when you start talking.

Not sure what this has to do with “Layoffs”, but that aside the env you describe is exactly what the doink at the top has created. It’s now a nod, comply and bootlick society now. New ideas unless they come from the top are taboo!

@OP, Aside from anything AI related (lately), there’s a lot of pressure to conform and ‘excel’ at your very specific role & goal as defined by management chain. This is not the place for innovation and disruption - it’s simply not expected, wanted or rewarded. Understand & accept this for your own mental health. Find other outlets for your creativity & hopefully another place where that is recognized and appreciated.

Why would you care about ATT they dont care about you! Put yourself and family first. if you get layed off who cares. ATT promotes leaders on butt kissing ability not competence. There is not one person there that would disagree.

Stop caring and comply.

No one cares about you. Reciprocate.

Passionate advocacy of ideas that did not originate from your boss is the fastest way to increase your stress level and frustration. Don’t do it. Your boss is so much smarter than you are, so do what they say.

If he is your manager do what he says period. The only person you have to please is your boss. I had to adjust my mindset from caring to facusing on compliance. Now to be honest I just dont care anymore. its a good job and I do what it takes. Thats it nothing more. ATT has some of the most incompatent but kissing leaders.....we all know that.
