@159 I've heard rumors (only rumors) that there will be changes to the severance package in the new year. Can't imagine they're going to make it better...

@159 I know people who have told managers to RIF them if reduced headcount is needed. TR wants to manage people out instead of paying severance and AIP. Maybe hoping increased RTO will get numbers down too.

@151 why would anyone leave before being laid off and miss on a year long severance package (in cases like yours). Nice try TR HR

@g2 I totally agree. I left (albeit voluntarily) after 25 years, just over a year ago. I was worried I might be institutionalized after so long at TR and put off leaving for years. I can tell you it's the best decision I made. I'm in a similar job at a company with a MUCH better culture and where annual layoffs isn't a thing. There is life after TR and it's better. Don't wait until they lay you off, leave sooner.

@jj When HR says that, they mean the Manson family not the Waltons.

@g2 your first mistake was thinking one of TR's priorities is keeping people happy. TR's view on human resources is that of a bean counter. This is why I puke in my mouth a little, every time I get one of their fake "we are a family" emails

So glad to be done with this company after many years. My last day was around Christmas a few years ago. 3 months of each year filled with fear and uncertainty is no way to keep your employees loyal or happy.

Speaking from the other side I can tell you there is life after TR. Take the severance and use it to the fullest.

But you can take comfort in knowing they are funding a new AI lab with Imperial in London and offering money for phds…

I just hope that someone from new tech companies will bust TRs a-s so badly one day that no amount of money for the acquisitions will be able to save them

Any layoffs in technology after they made us dig our own graves with DC Exits and now Colos?

On my end, I’ve seen a team of 4 laid off with an addition of 2 people “leaving” on their own terms.

I’ve heard of two and two other “retirements.” At least the Thanksgiving four day weekend was ruined 🫥
