Do we think the project will be completed on schedule, or is it heading toward another FNV4 situation?

I think it has already happened. They are just waiting to get every last drop of panicked urgent work out of the worker bees before letting everyone know.
@11d you clearly do not work here
Not even sure what this means, but we can assume it means nothing until any official word comes down from those who matter.
They will plow forward. All these rumours are just that until someone calls it.
@cw Yeah, it's in NMPDC.
@ks I’m hearing it too…
Not sure where this came from but really looks like just a rumour at this point.
Lol...doesn't that sentence sound funny? "....but likely without all planned parts since the design isn't finalized."
Who wants one....c'mon...who wants one? lol
It can launch on time, but likely without all planned parts since the design isn't finalized.
Actually still interested in there being any truth to this. There is no indication whatsoever that this was announced anywhere by anyone. Sounds like fake news until proven otherwise.
@cw It's highly unlikely to launch next year, as you would have already revealed a prototype or teaser. Instead, we're facing the very real possibility of a major dud.
I'll believe this when it's announced. I haven't heard anything about this.
It carries people somewhere....la-la land maybe.
@ek nonsense, an iPhone doesn’t carry people down the road, or does it 🤔
I dunno - maybe in this case "Old Guard" = Common Sense. Step back, take a measured look at what the he-l is going on and then fire all the people that think we can just thrown engineering processes away. Yes there are some updates needed and just because something has always been done a certain way doesn't mean it needs to continue. But my god...you cannot throw everything out because you used to work for Apple and you are a self proclaimed genius and developed software all your life. No one cares Eugene...you have to actually be building something that works and makes sense. You need to pay attention to physics and keep in mind that what you are building is going to be rolling down the road with people in it at some point.
@eh you don’t keep your scapegoat in house for obvious reasons… unless you’re Greek but that’s just wrong
Still making himself available. What a guy...I'm sure since he's leaving they'll take full advantage of his services...that they could still have if they employed him longer...which they chose not to do because...see where this is going?
Interesting news if true. I just don't see it having a prayer any other way. Maybe someone came to their senses.
We have enough trouble with quality and getting programs launched with minor updates by following our usual processes. I can't imagine the cluster F that CE1 is going to sp-t out. Not to mention the brutal work environment. Known a few that begged to leave that team. Loose processes + poor moral + DF. Sounds like a winning plan.

To note, DF still lives in California and has is available to Ford leadership in Dearborn. Thus he will still have input to this project. Check CDS, he is thankfully still on the team.
Has to succeed, too much invested in it. Will be a brutal launch, but they will get there.
A Six month delay was just announced. I’m starting to wonder if there is any vehicle behind the scenes, can anyone actually confirm they’ve seen it?
work is going on, but I do not see any urgency, so I doubt we will see it in 2027
At that, the Cali Wizards baby is going to be so deformed no one will want to claim it. It's an ugly one that's for sure.
Old guard? The old guard delivered the 40 mpg Maverick for half of the sticker price of the Cali wizards’ baby. And in less time!
@bv I heard it has plastic tires for a weight save
Not speaking about program codes....man where you been?
You shouldn't be confirming them either Einstein. Too bad he had to cut and run before the big day. Yeah buddy, we all know why.
Cowardice. Shame. Either way it's obvious the intent was to be as far away as possible when the rubber....or whatever meets the road.
We should not be speaking about confidential program codes in a public forum. DF set up this future Model e hit for success for the company and we will not be let down. People are talking about the excitement inside and outside of the company.
Too expensive.
Nah...I don't think it will go the route of FNV4. No one ever fully committed to FNV4 and I don't think the leaderships heart was really in it. They sure acted like it though. With CE1 there is a lot of C-Level sentiment riding on this. So....if there is a hint of it not succeeding my guess is you'll see Jim exit stage right with some made up BS about how it's "passing the torch for success" or some BS like that. Kinda like DF did after deciding not to stay the measly 1 year to see what he reportedly "worked so hard on" to launch. CE1 doesn't succeed its going to have some larger implications - so expect them to really try. If you are on this team or close to it, prepare to get blamed for a lot because they will be looking for anything and everything to pull in front of them when and oif something doesn't go right. Name of the game at Ford....hot potatoes..."not my fault"..."it was THEM..."
Oh boy...look what you did here.
Almost guaranteed to be scrapped now that Doug F. is gone and Ford's old guard have taken back control.
Hahahaha
