Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Something to watch for

How and when is the May Beat scheduled. It's typically scheduled about a month out and we're already at the end of April without that. If we get an invite in a few days for one at the end of May, you can probably assume that nothing super dramatic is planned in May. If it comes out late and is a short notice beat scheduled for just after earnings you might go hmmmmm even though nothing is certain. This is not a prediction. It's just something to watch for.

@cq hey stupid.. Cisco doesnt need to file a WARN notice before lr cuz they keep you on payroll for 60 days past notice. This is the legal way around filing WARN before lrs happen. If required WARN will b3 filed the day before or day of.

One can only hope they're considering implementing another ER pkg like MSFT. Though I'm not going to hold my breath.

At Cisco, everything is optimized for the next layoff. Every plan, every project, and every work assignment is shaped more by anticipation of the next LR than by any real business goal.

@b9 lol there is no record of Cisco filing WARN in March or April so far. you do realize that standard procedure is to file WARN on the same day that the layoffs are announced, right?

If people think layoffs are lies, maybe check that Cisco filed for 75 layoffs in California on 3/15. I think the filing is usually 60 days before layoffs. So that means 5/14 might be the date.

rescheduled is different from complete cancellation, neither is an indication of Layoffs. Seems like people are really stressed (given the kind of politics at play) ...

By the way this is why people hate this page. People post lies and racist rants all the time but people like you waste their time being aholes to folks who post observations that aren't either of those.

@ae they literally cancelled and rescheduled one two months ago for the hiring and travel freeze. Are YOU a new employee?
