Someone said when they asked if in office mean 6 hours or 8 hours and the response was they are tracking people to be in office 8 hours .
Wtf!
This can’t be real, no one is staying exactly 8 hours a day in office
This isn’t real
Or is it!???

@hx you are a MISERABLE person. For someone who has so many things to say about how hard other people work you seem to have a lot of time to troll on here.
OP - what is SO surprising about 8 hours at the office? It has been the norm forever until Covid times. Covid is gone so we are back to normal ways of working. Not sure why you are all up in arms about it. Yes, rules are not the same for everyone. Higher ups have always had more privileges than rank and file employees. No one is stopping you from working hard and rising to those ranks ...
@fz you sound entitled, stupid, arrogant and a world-class whiner.
Wanna set policy? Work hard and rise up the ranks, become a CEO and then do whatever the eff you want. Until then STFU and follow company policy or find another job.
@fw You sound old, stupid, and ignorant.
@az comparisons are useless. Maybe that person worked out a deal with lesser money for remote or fewer key projects or they work crazy hours or perhaps they truly bring irreplaceable skills. Who knows! Point is they were important enough to be a speaker while you and I were given emojis. Sad. I know. But it is the truth.
@aw I agree. A salaried job is based on the implicit contract of 40 hours a week with some going to 50. The “modern way” as someone put it is to work much lesser. Then these modern workers wonder why offshoring is booming. It’s stupidity and ignorance.
@aw You must be at least 62 years old. Nobody younger thinks that way. Adapt to the modern world or go away.
Post Covid: An announcment of 8 hour/3 day RTO for non-custoemr facing (branch) employees => Begining of the drain of true talent from U.S.Bank....Not everyone is privileged to earn like MC members or can afford child care or drive 2-3 hours in traffic everyday.
@aw so why was the person announcing it working remotely if it's so critical to be in office? Why is there no priority to have teams work in the same office if face to face communication is so important? Why are we hiring huge swaths of contractors in different continents if face to face communication is so important while laying off entire departments?
Us Bank says it cares about the environment while forcing people to drive and pollute for a job that could be easily be done remotely with less negative impacts to the world we live in. It's safer, it gives more freedom to the employee, it empowers them, reduces their costs, and gives most people an additional 2 hrs not spent commuting. But for someone like you, you couldn't fathom working without smelling the farts you share at the water cooler, often known as the language of angels.
I'm assuming you are just a sad troll, either that or you're working your braincell overtime. You might want to wear a helmet around, just in case. You don't have much left to lose.
Of course it’s 8 hours. Only a re--rd would think a work day is 6 hours. The entitlement here is off the charts.
@OP the part I liked most about that entire meeting was the HR reps face when she realized what she had said about the merit funding and the two separate pools, hub vs remote.
But yes, why wouldn’t we be required to work 8 hours a day?
They avoided all questions about tracking, but said the minimum amount of time you need to be in office and working is 8 hours a day. They told us this while working remote themselves in order to improve morale and show how they are better and deserve this flexibility but everyone else is a loser who doesn't deserve it.
Think about this for half a second. Do you really think they’d openly say 6 is ok? Of course they are going to say 8. But the IP tracking will likely be 6+ with no issues to address
lol your bi--hing about having to be at work for an 8 hour shift when 70% percent of the bank doesn’t have a WFH option. Welcome to the real world pal.
I’ll come in my 8 hours when every single 17 and above do it! So tired of them holding part of us accountable when plenty of well paid senior leaders are still chilling at home and not dragging their butts in like me. Gas prices are ki-ling me right now.
8 not 6. Not 7. Not 9. Easy peasy
