Thread regarding PNC layoffs

I have been priced out of my job

I can’t afford this job anymore. I can’t afford to lose 15 hours per week just to commute. I can’t afford a vehicle. Let alone paying maintenance upkeep on a used vehicle. Then toll fees. Forget it! Everything was fine and financially manageable prior to the RTO announcement.

One more thing I was given a 1.25% increase. I know I had to sit down and read it as well. It seems like nobody “earns” a raise. Regardless of your effort and experience, PNC will decide what it will give you and it is usually the bare minimum. Nonetheless the raise is just another reminder that I can’t afford this job.

@fs when a company foams at the mouth regarding their W/L balance and aggressive need for great talent and to stay competitive in wages you would expect them to do just that.

That’s usually how it works: buyers decide how much to pay. We put a “for sale” sign on our talents; employers either buy, negotiate, or decline. You want the money more than they want the skill? Price goes down. You have a skill few have? Price goes up. I hope you can find a more needful buyer, or you find a differentiating skill you can develop. That’s the only way you’ll increase your price.
Getting torqued up over 2% raise vs what, 4 or 5%? Your answer doesn’t lie in an annual raise; it lies in a more valuable position.

@b7

Fantastic insight! But don't be limited to just RTO. Roll it all back to 1926. Until then, you are nothing more than a trite bootlicker.

And no, you won't see me at the water cooler. I'll be sure to keep my distance from any dimwitted corporate sychophant like you.

Have a nice day.

People have been commuting for 100 years. Most of us RTOd years ago. Part of basic work requirements is to show up. Welcome back. See you at the water cooler to hear you whine about it further.
