Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

First level M converted to ICs

Did your org protect managers by turning them ICs, and their RnRs remain almost (or) the same?

While good engineers doing the job are seeing the exit doors, there's still room to protect the friends

@ad
It feels like the US, Canada, Europe, and even Australia are suffocating.

We are the backbone of this company. We make the wheels turn in the right direction, keep our employees grounded and make things happen. Without us FLMs we would be a mess. You are welcome

@bq same here. Got a new manager after last year's cpm. Don't know how the he-l he even became a manager in the first place. Acts like a spoiled brat, only hears what he wants to hear and talks up a storm with made up sh-t. Half of my time is spent cleaning up his mess.

Intel's chief problem is competency and entitlement. It needs to get worse before it can get better. Bring on the next round!

@fz I have regular 1 on 1s with my team. They always say they like me and my management style. Beyond that I have no job responsibilities. You can hate it

@fw Just because you call yourself “one of the best managers” and received awards, doesn’t necessarily make you a good manager. Part of Intel’s problem is rewarding bad managers with awards etc. Just sayin’

I am a manager and have been one of the best managers receiving many awards for my leadership. There are many bad managers who have been CPMd or demoted themselves to ICs to avoid CPM

Doing the corporate shuffle. Change job codes to protect and isolate. This happens when senior "leadership" doesn't know how operations really run - that or they are taking advice from hired shills (consultants).

All over director sr manager manager were turned into IC to protect them. Most are not technical enough. This is the Intel way and we have protected medicracy for many years. Not surprised.
Report to HR if it bothers you but line up next job since you will be next on list.
