Other companies may have bigger layoffs. They may have more frequent layoffs. But every single one executes orders of magnitudes faster than Chevron.
Most other companies, it’s announced, selections performed, and people offboarded in under a week.
Chevron took almost 12 months from announcement to finalisation of their 2025 layoffs. That’s twelve months of uncertainty. That’s twelve months of people with one foot out the door….
And when you’re Chevron, and you execute layoffs every five years on average, and you take twelve months to execute, and then another twelve months minimum to bed in the new structure? That means that 40% of Chevron’s time is spent in reorg execution and aftermath.

OP, Correct, and after leaving, it became obvious that a big part of the problem is not too many layoffs, it's just the opposite. For instance, the people who occupy themselves posting on this site instead of working. Anyone who has a clue has left for greener pastures and knows you can't behave elsewhere like you can at Chevron. Take note.

OP.....clearly you haven't been paying attention. It's not just about the layoffs. Posts have been about the culture (or lack thereof), the constant back stabbing, people in jobs that have no business in the position etc.
You will understand when you get laid off.
