SVP salary Tampa

What's a fair acceptable range for SVP role in Tampa for a senior person? I know this is a sinking ship and its a temporary boat for me.

Ranges posted are 155 to 230k and most of them are willing to pay around 155. Why post the range so high if they don't want to pay?

I recommend applying elsewhere. Things are not good here. Be my guest and apply if you want a ton of stress and possible health issue from said stress. If you're into hierarchical workplaces and managers who don't know their head from their a$$ then apply. 😆

RIFd recruiter here:

EXTERNALS:

IF you have already worked at a comparable (to Citi's SVP) level at another firm for a few years, you can negotiate to the middle of the range, which is the "Intermediate Tertile".

If this role would be a step up for you, you will be hired in the "Foundationtal tertile", or lowest 1/3 of the range.

The top 1/3 is reserved for current C14 internals aready making a salary in that range, or for instance someone moving from front office to middle/back office.
The posted range is always for the primary location, so if the primary location is NYC but Tampa is an additional/optional location, the posted range is for NYC and not for Tampa.

INTERNALS:

If you are internal, and a C13, you will get a raise according to the matrix. There are specific %s you are eligible for based on your current salary and close it is to the minimum for the new C14 jobcode you are being offered. Nothing you can do to negotiate more than what you are due per the formula.

If you an internal, and already a C14, it is considered a lateral move and you will not receive a single dollar increase.

Citi No longer gives salary increases for lateral moves, VP To VP, SVP To SVP, Director To Director, since about 5+ years ago because Citi is financially struggling and Broke AS$ Poor !

Citi is literally CitiTitanic and a sinking ship. Employees who choose to remain at Citi are aware of this and that it's a temporary boat for them. They want to ride out the wave until the Dysfunctional Sh!tshow Clown-Boat finally sinks!

Even external job candidates are aware of this. Most external job seekers who want a job at Citi are long-term unemployed (desperate), Contractors/Consultants (desperate), or have high expenses (desperate).

They're often Not the best and brightest because Citi can Not afford to attract and retain GS, JPMC, Morgan Stanley high caliber employees.

It's a vicious cycle where Citi has low caliber employees who are incompetent and can Not fix Citi's problems.....Citi is Not financially, operationally and technologically stable......Citi can Not sell more products and services to increase revenue.....Citi can not afford to hire high caliber employees and invest in technology etc..

Lather, Rinse, Repeat.

It is the full range of pay for SVP(C14) role. It covers every location too. Citi is like most companies. You will be offered something in the first half of the range. This allows growth in the role.

FYI…..Citi will no longer give a pay bump if you take this role and then post for another SVP role. You won’t get a bump anymore.

I negotiated my pay and bonus when I started. I am in a Director level. I negotiated 40k more than the low end of the range.

@nv

Did your original job offer start at $200k or did you ramp up to that number over the years ??

The OP and other posters are talking about the salary range shown on the job posting.

@h2 higher end covers the NY market. An SVP can make over $200k easily in the NY market at Citi even an SVP not in the business. I know bc am one

In my experience if you are coming into Citi you could negotiate closer to the middle range, if you are being prompted expect the lower range.

@f8

Not correct.

Citi's true salary offer will be close to the lower end of the range. And so if Citi posted $150k to $200k, expect the salary offer to be $150k to $175k.

The wide or high-end of the salary range is a fake carrot intended to encourage Svckers/job applicants to apply, giving them false hopes.

Anything is fine for 6 months. After that, your position will be replaced by either a same caste employee or a contractor. Jobs at Citi is a scam. Heavily controlled by upper caste hiring managers.

I noticed they do midway so acceptable for that range will be around 192,500. Try to negotiate that bonus though

True about Tampa, Florida and other low cost locations.

The posters must be talking about New York City, Boston, San Francisco.

An MD in Missouri is Not making any where close to an MD in NYC.

In Tampa you’re gonna see 140-155. Unless you have like 25 years of experience.

@OP

Really??!! You can't infer and figure this out ??

It's No wonder Citi can only attract and retain Low Caliber employees! And by extension Citi has the SH!THOLE financial, technology, regulatory and operational problems it has !

If Citi posted closer to their true real offer $150k to $175k do you think qualified potential Svckers/employees would even apply ??

It's about sample size and getting as many Svckers/applicants to apply and hoping they'll be convinced into accepting an inferior job offer/salary at the end of the hiring cycle.

Someone making $225k to $250k is usually highly skilled with years of experience, and has additional nice to have skills not listed in the job description they can bring to the new employer.

@OP expect the offer to be near the minimum; if one is made. Its a buyers market right now for jobs. They'll just go next in line.
