Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

"ANONYMOUS BOARD"

Stop posting to this manipulated "anonymous" board. It's clear that Dell HR admins (trolls) are up voting/down voting at will and deleting comments they don't like or reflect negatively upon Dell.

Wait. Do you mean to tell me that the TellDell survey wasn’t anonymous? 🤣

@f4 Most people don't know that your IP can be tracked. Most people don't even know wtf an IP even is lol.

Well... duh lol.

EVERY SINGLE TIME you go onto the internet - any website. youtube, facebook, reddit, phub, etc... and even when you play online video games - your IP is being logged. Every. Single. Time. They know when you go to that site and when you leave. 99.999% of websites have firewalls and/or proxy's running and they are 100% logging EVERYTHING you do.

As an example, at Dell... my team happens to run a lot of very vital infrastructure and apps. We know when you login to the VPN, and from where. We know when you disconnect as well. We can also - if we wanted to - see exactly what websites you go to and how often you visit them. We can easily see who is going to forbidden sites/or trying to, and how many times they try to go there.

I promise you, 99.9% of websites can do the exact same thing. Especially popular sites such as this one as an example.

HOWEVER, Dell does not own this website/forum. At most they can read posts/comments and if they see things they don't like and/or go against company policy and/or are disclosing company secrets/NDA's, they can ask the site owner to remove said posts/comments. It's up to the site owner to abide or not as they don't have to.

As for dell wanting to find out who posted the post about an NDA project or something like that? If they want to know WHO posted it, they'd have to go through the legal process and basically get a warrant to find this info out. Which they aren't going to do.

Well, there is no such thing as a truly anonymous forum. Every single time you come to this site, your IP is logged. Every single time you make a post or comment, your IP is logged.

Yes, you don't have to register an email or have a username here but, if you are on the internet, you are NEVER "anonymous." Using a VPN definitely helps hide yourself but technically speaking, with enough work and investigation... even those hiding behind multiple VPN's CAN be found. Without a VPN, it's super simple.

The thing is though is that, dell doesn't own this site/forum so for them to want to know who posted xyz post/comment, they'd have to get a subpoena for this site to disclose that information. This website has redacted EVERYTHING about it so even "whois" doesn't disclose a single thing. I do know this site is based out of Toronto but that's about it.

I hope HR, managers, directors, and C level's read this forum... Not that it does any good considering the FACT that dell doesn't even gaf about their horrible "Tell Dell" results lol. Says a lot about how or what dell thinks about what EMPLOYEES have to say in our internal survey's when they quickly brush over the negatives - eNPS scores for example - and idk about anyone else but, I don't believe for a second that what was shown to us, was the REAL scores.

Again, I'm positive HR, and "leadership" people at dell read this forum... I mean, for as many of the posts asking about or even spilling the beans on the NDA projects as there have been, those have all magically disapeared; so clearly they are monitoring this forum in some way or another lol.

It’s an anonymous board.

  1. Don’t post from your work computer or phone as that can be tracked.
  2. If HR is the team manipulating the votes - then we know they’re paying attention.
(Remember there was a bot that would up or down votes to try and get them to zero)
  3. It’s nice to know that you aren’t the only person feeling the anxiety.
  4. It might help that bright young college kid from accepting an internship, summer job, or permanent position because of the dysfunction.

It’s really become the wailing wall anyway, but I do appreciate the daily airing of grievances and rumors. Rto policy led to no collaboration, but this does.
