@OP
Does anyone have insights to impacts to geographies outside of US and India? E.g.: Europe, Mexico/Canada?

@bg the two stories you link are referencing the September layoffs/WARN notices. There have not been new WARN notices issued.

@db

Actually, I may have been thinking CTO, maybe not as CEO.

Does this mean that Oracle finally decided that having 7 layers of management BETWEEN (non-inclusive) the CEO and an IC was a little excessive?

@ab I guess I'll just hang in there a bit longer and hope for severance rather than just quitting then.

That is Aug 2025 report. You are too late sister. The damage is already done and the preparation is already complete

The December update is the one that matters. As of November 30, Oracle has only spent $826 million out of that $1.6 billion restructuring budget. They’ve paid out some cash, but there’s still $484 million sitting there specifically for future severance.
The math is simple: about half the plan is still waiting to happen. We are looking at another 3,500 to 4,000 people getting the ax.
Here is where the remaining hits are going:
Middle Management & Corp (VPs/Directors): ~1,650 people
Services: ~1,140 people
Cloud & Software: ~985 people
Hardware: ~165 people
If you’re a Director or VP, you better watch out. The numbers are right there in the official filings and on the government sites for everyone to see.
Here is count :
Redwood city - 187 roles - atleast 10-15 (VP's and Directors), Pleasanton, Santa clara - 30-40 numbers.
Seattle is also going to hit a large number of senior roles.

Oracle Health and Oracle India is going to be affected in massive numbers. atleast 3/4 of the numbers above will be in India.

Holy cow. Total YTD restructuring costs for FY’26 is $415 million. Total expected costs for FY’26 is $1.6 billion.

So that means upcoming layoffs will triple last summer’s layoffs.

And this is impacting everyone. Software taking the biggest hit ($119M year to date, $365M remaining). Services is relatively getting obliterated relative to last summer ($36M to date, $290M remaining). Hardware least impacted ($16M to date, $51M remaining).
