I saw the words succession plans and wondered if it means a big layoff is coming and they are now trying to see who is worth keeping and moving to another role????? And so you provide all that and succesor who can succeed in your role if you are redunded??? Make it make sense…

This is not new at all. We do it every mid year. And I’m not in HR
Cigna uses the 9-block HR process for IT staff role, responsibility and succession plans.

@dn I haven't been required to complete a succession plan for tens years until now. This is not routine.
Succession plans have been around for a long time. Updating your career profile is newer in the last few years and is used to match you to job postings. It’s understandable to think this is convert activity but it’s just routine.

No. Its a common thing a lot of companies do. It might be new to Cigna but succession planning is widely used across many companies along with 9box (employee ratings)
