Is this a new thing everyone is having to complete on workday to update job profile, career interests …. I saw the words succession plans and wondered if it means a big layoff is coming and they are now trying to see who is worth keeping and moving to another role????? And so you provide all that and succesor who can succeed in your role if you are redunded??? Make it make sense…

Succession plans have been around for a long time. Updating your career profile is newer in the last few years and is used to match you to job postings. It’s understandable to think this is convert activity but it’s just routine.

Hey, this actually happened on my team. It was a very slow process. First, management asked us to fill this out thoroughly, a couple months passed and work slowed down. During that time a few people were getting asked to participate in multiple tasks that matched your profile, and a few months after that the team was getting picked apart, laid off, re-orgd

No. Its a common thing a lot of companies do. It might be new to Cigna but succession planning is widely used across many companies along with 9box (employee ratings)
