Will be communicated through unions and worker councils depending on local laws. That's what I heard but do not know how the numbers break down.

Journey to zero...jobs :)
With this number, is there a plant closing?
Which business divisions are affected by this
@ew, there is another post here saying 30% of German workforce will be affected. That’s different from 30% of 500 in EMEA. Anyone to clarify?
I’m hearing IT and energy costs (likely manufacturing) are part of it, any more details?
Big portion of it will Hit Germany. Approximately 30%
bill has this graph of the 3 phases. transformation phase looks to shed more headcounts as it prepares to the top accelerate phase. be mentally prepared
I anticipate that this will be scaled across all regions, including the US, as a consequence of the "Transformation" phase of the 3M value creation framework presented by Bill during the last shareholder meeting.
Heard it will be 150+ in IT. Not much workforce left after this year to deal with VPs' silly strategies. Exhhausting.
Reading these threads, the outcome feels inevitable. The only unknown now is timing. For the first time in a long while, hearing about cuts actually feels like relief — maybe light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully sooner rather than later. It’s time to close the chapter with 3M.
Unfortunately, energy costs in EMEA, particularly EU and UK, are up close to 3X from just 10-12 years ago. It wasn't a smart idea either, during the switch to net zero energy, to rely on the Russian guy for natural gas when the sun isn't shining and the wind isn't blowing.
It's only going to get worse too. 500 is just a start.
