Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

I hate Sundays

They're too close to Mondays. I need more time to recharge my batteries. Working at Oracle has become so draining that I'm always tired. Always. I'm considering walking away even with nothing lined up. I just don't know how much more of this my mental health can take.

Life is too short - Oracle should not be allowed to take your health away. Leave or wait for RIFS, then leave. Its not worth it, coming from someone who just left and in a new space.

The management runs the place like a Bangladesh sweat shop. Perform well, and they load more on the donkeys back. They want to see you kick back, when you can stand it no longer. Junior people, especially those who haven’t been abused enough, do not understand. Polish your resume, increase your Linkin network and polish that profile. Reach out via email or social to all your contacts, tell them you’re interested in opportunities to help them. Then jump.Oracle underpays, abuses employees. Matrix management, to have multiple spreadsheets and PowerPoint for various BU is a waste of life. Oh better go check honestly and size. Oh is border color ok? Yeah that helps content. Form over function every time. How does he know?

@ev I go.to Church in Sundays and Wensdays, pray everyday. Church is really the only thing I look forward to other than dinner with my wife. All fortune 100 compaines now are trash under this id--t president. I feel better after Church but im smoked again by Thursday

Sundays are God’s days. If you submitted to God, went to church like a good parishioner, and tithed then you would feel whole on Mondays and ready to submit again but to the corporate gods like Ellison.

Prepare your CV and send out, other companies might have better opportunities with higher salaries.

I recommend you to take care of yourself first. Staying there each month longer, gets you deeper in the endless hole of frustration and one step closer to depression. Of course, now jobs market is poor now, but it is not worth to sacrifice your mental and physical health, because for the future you will not have a power to take something new because O drains from you all energy. Think about it, in the mean time you can work wherever, I would even take cashier in the market just to leave this toxic place. Wish you 🤞

@br 100% agree! LOT of fake job postings out there (they have no intentions of filling, just to make themselves look good) and scams. LOTS of scams. I was hit up with two scams in the last 2 days.

For the love of God and all that's holy, for your own good, do NOT quit unless you have another job to go to! Network, find/make friends in other companies who can give you a referral.

Take some days off. Call in sick and do something fun. Maybe you can try to convince yourself that the job - or aspects of it - are fun. Just don't quit, because trust us, you will be worse off than you are now.

Hang in there, it's really hard right now. Highly recommend not leaving until you have something else lined up. It's rough out there!

You respond truthfully to those surveys? You know that’s a way of getting you on the list!

I’m glad I’m not alone feeling this. Oracle has been draining me too! I also blame management for not creating a sustainable work environment. They always get work life balance issues on the voice survey and they never do anything about it.
