Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Travel for some

Even though there no travel for everyone else , no money, LP and CB (costs extra on a plane) went to see that Investor that now has 6% stake in Prague yesterday. Wonder what they talk about? Why could not be done on teams?

At this point

You people all deserve what’s coming.

High and Mighty know it alls, that you can’t tell them anything whatsoever.

You people made your bed. Now lie in it.

Actually I think your already lying….

@fw I will say there is for sure a different in mindset between what could be said to be legacy xerox and legacy Lexmark on travel for visiting customers and etc.. but the other issue is that there are many changes and financial controls that are being put in place because of the books of the company.

The post started off bashing senior leadership for traveling to visit a newly large stakeholder in our stock. This new stakeholder could be viewed as a corporate raider and corporate raiders could get 1 or more seats on the board and bring votes to the next shareholder meeting.

The bottom line is as a public traded company this shareholder could cause more concerns or work for the board and the company than just visiting one company. The idea that leadership would visit this new shareholder and try and establish a good working relationship is good for the company and probably will bear more fruit then visiting a customer site.

Visiting a customer site vs a large shareholder and possible new board member isn’t equal. Not saying that Xerox doesn’t care about customers we do.. it’s just different set of issues, problems and opportunities in these two forms of travel

I would encourage commenters to stay professional. Every emotional comment detracts from the purpose of this site which is transparency between every employee no matter the level of contribution.
As it pertains to travel.
From a soon departing legacy Lexmarker who has spent over 15 years with customers I can speak to the importance of travel. Given the financial constraints of the business I totally understand the limits on travel given some of the abuses I’ve personally seen. With that said, i can also confirm the access to general travel is more constrained under Xerox than Lexmark. Traditionally our motto at Lexmark was customers first. An absolute must was maintaining relationships with clients through consistent face to face interaction “even worker bees”. In a mature market like print that is a true tool of differentiation. Xerox should be open to that mindset if they want to survive.

Look at this boot li---r defend a financially irresponsible decision by the executive team. Things like this in an echo chamber will make leadership worse in the long run. Hold your leaders accountable

In all fairness when a corporate raider starts buying your stock and then becomes one of the largest individual stock holder and then asks you to come visits.. you kinda have to send someone. This isn’t like traveling to the Hamptons to meet with a 7-11 store operator about signage.

These meetings aren’t held on teams because you don’t want recordings, you want face to face and body language to be a key part of the conversation. You guys need to learn you are worker bees and corporate leaders need to do what they need to do to continue to make sure the company operates so that pay checks can continue to goto the worker bees.

Worker bees need to focus on delivering worker bee results more than complaining about corporate governance and board related items.

They might be swapping out a board member and slotting this guy in. I know that sounds d-mb, but anything goes at Xerox.
