Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

IT took another beating today….

2 months after the August layoffs another massive RIF focused on flattening the org. Aravind’s org took the brunt this time.

What’s next:
IT managers being flipped to IC being discussed.

Elimination of the IT Sr Director role being discussed

Reduction of H1Bs in IT being discussed

Product Org (under Omar) RIF in December

Consumer Org (under John) RIF in December or January

Srini massive Q1 reorg to align with his vision for T-Mobile

The happy go lucky Mike Sievert days are gone. The dark clouds of working under a sr leadership team mostly picked by the board are here. Think of the Lion King when Scar took over the pride lands, that is what TMUS will be the next couple years.

@12x T-Mobile can suggest there's no age bias as much as they want to but when the average age of those being laid off is between 45 and 55, well...

They've hired a bunch of people who know nothing about anything and they wonder why the network is sc--wing up.

Why did they exit Anu? She was last of the Metro leadership, strong engineer, widely respected and good people leader, billing/erp veteran.

Is it only me or anyone surprised that all the 3 IT VPs exited under JS as part of the “flattening” were older experienced women. Kim Ganote, Michele Gehl, Anu? Ageism and gender bias not performance. HR kept these exits under the radar, no email communications, announcements nothing. Wonder why!

Message clear if you are an older woman at T-Mobile working in IT, not su-king up to JS and his crony club of men you get cut next!

I thought highly of Loren Miller as both a manager and people leader. He recently visited the India office and appeared to be performing well. His departure was unexpected and highlights how unpredictable executive decisions can be.

@nd she was one of the last good ones left in IT with a good team culture. Looks like the Happy As-----n did a hatchet number on her and her leadership team Loren Miller, Jason and Phil gone. I used to work in that team before they did RTO.

who cares...who just cares. most of the t boys are long gone. all they have is stock like old John. John the great is what we must call him. he did it all right. Just like had pink shoes going into the office for a cool job and had great ideas. What we have now is mikey. Mikey's job is really different. he is like the newer boy to take care of the failure in t-home-internet. It didn't have hope even before mikey. His job is to end it and ki-l it. now that company can resume to greatness again. just ki-l it. and ki-l it fast....like really really fast. no purpose and never will help the cutomer to leave at&t. they are thre for like 50 dollars now. so only thing left is save the sock...for all the older folks plus the really old folks. mikey can stay in busin for another 5 or 10yrs. he will make bank....like jp jamie dimon style. do it mr ginues

@ek These LinkedIn “self-congratulatory” posts are getting out of hand… feels like we’re already on Vikas Goyal 2.0 of corporate self-worship. Can’t wait for the VG 3.0 and VG 4.0 updates to this saga. Also, the long, AI- crafted essays from SKC that lists half the planet? Someone please show this SVP the “tag only” feature.

How many of the T-Mobile Indian Employees and H-1B Visa holders - who are congratulating Gupta Chandra - will be training their Hyderabad replacements in the coming months? 😂

Lot of these DMTS and MTS roles are unnecessary. They play way too much politics than drive any values. No accountability as well.

Post ID: @bk+1ka077ax5

There are hardworking people that got impacted. Quite a few people worry about their jobs. Yet they still keep so many EAs, with no real values to the company, that some act holier than thou. Especially ones in Aravind’s org.
