@1v9

Which location? Did they give you a chance to justify yourself? Did your manager reach out or did you find out through a meeting with HR? When did they fire you? I thought they already got everyone last week

I tried to coffee badge even harder for your guys so everyone would have to come in 5 days a week but they got me before I could leave on my terms. F TIAA, those b** had a report that showed when I badged in and how long I was in the office and there was no warning. Just take your S*** and go.

@mw If you don’t have a documented disability, it sounds like you’re just uncomfortable being at the office for a full work day 3 times a week, maybe this isn’t the place for you. It’s not that hard to come in 3 days a week for 8 hours a day. I’m uncomfortable too, people are too loud on their zoom calls, people sm--k their food and talk too loud in open spaces , and it takes me an hour to commute each way, but I still stay the entire day and don’t complain about it. What’s wrong with millnials and Gen Z that they can just do what they’re being paid to without complaining and pushing boundaries

Coffee badger is someone who swipes their badge, grabs a free office coffee, then goes home to work from home for the rest of the day. It gets them a swipe for the day, and a free coffee, without having to be at the office all day. There has been many times that I was not able to work at the office all day because of my stomach ulcers and migraines. I went home after a couple of hour to get away from the fluorescent lights and work with my heating pad on my belly. I hope hr don’t think I was trying to coffee badge.

What counts as coffee badging? We don’t swipe out so how do they know if we are only there for 15 min

@me I mean, they aren’t wrong though. People getting up in arms about going to the office and dumping on them for doing their job. He/she works so they can have a life outside, funded by their employer. Calling them “grandpa” and having no life seems like a deflection.

Both sides have a point.

@h8 married, three kids in the house, full weekends, tons of travel, and I used to be a server for a decade. I guess that negates your exhaustive rant.

But sure, let’s just imagine that people coffee badging have justifications for doing so.

@g4 have at it.

But grown adults that do this, let’s face it, you’re likely not to amount to much.

So have fun with this one shiny toy that you have

@c7 that's GREAT news!! Maybe he will think of this intentional ignorance of the rules as he can't afford his next cup of coffee.

It's really not hard. Spend 3 solid days in the office (which we are an anomaly in financial services still). If you don't want to...find a job somewhere else. You don't have to agree with it but trying to being dishonest about it is stupid. And those of you who are coffee badging I can guarantee aren't the busy folks here so save us all the headcount and cost of your overpaid salary by continuing to do this and getting fired.

@c7

Was he straight up fired?

Or given a warning before hand?

My co-worker was fired yesterday for this reason...it is also part of the Code of Conduct training that you will have to complete and attest to receiving the training...

Comes to the office, swipes their badge (“grabs a coffee”), then leaves.

Company is cracking down and can tell who is doing it.
