@10q I think a fair amount have a negative opinion, but a lot are either neutral or positive. I would know, because I talk to a ton of them every day

@be Providers hate UMR I would say it’s a huge stretch saying that are operating well. This is one of the biggest complaints from external people I work with

Wait till you holiday executive greeting emails

Holiday Greetings from Leadership 🎄

As millionaires, we’d like to congratulate you—our disposable workforce—on another profitable year. Your sacrifices have been invaluable, especially since we didn’t have to make any ourselves.

While you head into the holidays wondering how to pay bills, afford gifts, or keep your job, please know we are deeply thankful for your “resilience.”

Take this time to be grateful for your families, because raises, bonuses, and job security remain spiritually rewarding concepts only.

Great job, everyone. We couldn’t have done it without your stress, burnout, and unpaid overtime.

Merry Christmas. Don’t forget—we’re a family.

@cd It is stealing, lying and basically making sure he gets a lot of money.

@m4 Was it on the Optum side?

I was laid off in May. UHG is by far the worst company, with the worst culture, that I have ever worked for.

@j6 It wasn't PR or Communications who downvoted Meh's post. That much I know

@aj
Reposting this again since it was removed

Noted just 1 downvote on Meh’s fact based post. Interesting and suspect ever more than Communications or PR is involved now with removing what they don’t like or downvote

*no names in this post so no reason to remove ** again

@ed they took a $9B bath on the sale of the south american entities that were sold off. Who knows how much they lost year over year on operations there too. Not a great decision to buy in down there.

Of course no one will admit to being a part of it, or having supported the decision early on. Success has many parents. Failure is an orphan.

Easy for someone who got a $60m package to tell us he's grateful for us and will fix the culture. Let's see...reducing 401k match? Check! Require RTO for those hired as full time tele-commuters when it benefits no one (and will expand in the New Year)? Check! Upcoming map reviews that will have laughable merit increases and RRPs (if even at all)? Check! Maybe we should ask him about the $1B UHC sell-off in Brazil and if he will use that money to reward all of us for our hard work and innovation he goes on about in his holiday email!!! These executives should be ashamed of themselves at this point.

Here's an idea... how about UHC/Optum sponsor more golf events? Have the top golfers complete against each other in a series of challenge events that is broadcasted on (pay to see) on ESPN?

Oh ... nevermind.

He keeps taking about getting back to the company culture but i have no idea what he means. What part of the culture hasn’t been followed?

Overall a good message, but he needs to back it up by at least reducing the layoffs, if not eliminating them entirely. Practice what you preach. UMR is running well on all cylinders. Take a page from that playbook and apply it everywhere

This company is in big trouble.

Just shows how tone deaf they all are.

Cut staffing past the bone…expert less staff to do more…cut company 401k contribution by 1%…continued lay offs…future layoffs planned…off shore jobs…

The list just goes on. But heck sure let’s have meetings to strengthen or culture. WTH Steve or what ever minion wrote that ! How out of touch are you.

Nothing. 2025 was the year of Optum I thought and they just laid people off and lost clients.

If the CEO and CFO remain accountants who are finance and dollars-wise first, expecting them to develop a company culture from nothing is going to lead to disappointment.
