Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

Earnings Call - 1 Divestiture Per Quarter through next year

So CIBC analyst asked around the pace:
"How should we kind of think about the cadence of divestitures over the next several quarters here as you look to divest 15%-20% of the overall revenue? Yeah, that's a great question. We've been grappling with that and talking to Steve about the right way to do it. Clearly, there are multiple business units here that are non-core. I think what you'll see is we'll establish a pace of doing one per quarter because it does take a lot of effort."...." I think you will see us generally be done within the next year. "

So sounds like 4-5 major sell offs of units...trying to read the tea leaves, who are the top 4-5 targets? Guessing anything non "Content" is fair game but could be individual products under Business Network ITOM, Cyber (Ent), Cyber (SMB/Consumer), ADM and Analytics. Who has the best guess here?

@rr

Point is, core = anything they can't sell off. Tis why they won't answer direct questions about what 'core' means. They'll sell what they can and mismanage the remainder into obscurity.

"Cybersecurity Enterprise vs SMB or C" Doesn't matter in the slightest. If they can sell it for profit, they will. If not, they will milk it and reduce expenses.

@p8 I don’t think you know the difference between Cybersecurity Enterprise vs SMB or C. The spread of false FACTS on this thread and others that don’t know any better are following it.

@ec

"It's a piece of sh-t and it lost all its big customers years ago through pi-s poor product management."

This description applies to many OT products. Too many to bother listing. I really miss building cool sh-t and delivering what customers want to pay for, but it is what it is. I don't miss the hours/effort involved though. Slacking is a reasonable trade-off.

"Leadership" has been lacking for years. Lots of kickass engineers have just kind of given up and are going through the motions until they're inevitably laid off.

I am a bit curious about what fresh new marketing atrocity OTW'25 will bring. No Mark to lead in marching bands, or Elvis impersonators. Who will pretend to be a late night talk show host and interview the paid 'talent' this time around?

Can't wait

@ap On what plane of reality? NOBODY is buying new licenses of edocs. It's a piece of sh-t and it lost all its big customers years ago through pi-s poor product management.

SMBC Cyber will be sold, as the enterprise business remains the main focus.
Muhi will stay on during the transition and then retire with a solid bonus.
