Charlotte is more dangerous than STL.
Good news is STL is getting massive investments for AI startups.
@hv someone was literally robbed at gunpoint walking into the building at 7am in STL! You always keep your head on a swivel in the Lou.
WFA is nowhere near Peabody. WFA is practically next door to St. Louis University and is next door to Harris Stowe State University. There is very little crime around the WFA campus.
STL office has crime issues. https://fox2now.com/news/missouri/peabody-energy-leaving-downtown-st-louis-relocating-to-st-louis-county/amp/
They should leave downtown
@e8 just rumors. STL isn't shutting down anytime soon. However, some groups may pull out. If you're in WIM or adjacent (except WIM Ops), you should be good. Ops, CAO and some others are looking to pull out.
@ay did they really say this? Or is this rumors again? Can anyone who heard the town hall confirm?
St Louis market is being closed down.
I know it's tough for tech people, but maybe try talking to a coworker instead of some internet board

What tech ama? Whose AMA? I'm in tech.
Not everyone has the free time to go listen. Some have work that needs to be done.
If you really wanted to know, you should have attended.
Site is closing down by end of 2026. Same fate as Portland.
They were all laid off.
