Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Does anyone have any credible information

On Employees that are fully remote in claims with no offices? Are they moving the jobs to the hubs or no, and staying fully remote?

its sad that you people think you're entitled to work at home. Get your as--s in office like a normal workforce.

Folks this is not hard. Fully remote stays remote. Hybrid returns to the office.

@e7 false. Those of us who are fully remote like me where the nearest office is 6 hours away are not going to be let go. Per our meeting today, we will still be employed.

Dont pay atention to the agitator poster, he spams the board about how he does no work with WFH (impossible at any role) or how they are getting rid of it, either or, and has been posting like this since covid. dude has issues....

But yeah, even if they got rid of the subleases at all the hubs, they couldnt fit everyone if they wanted to at this point, one of the benefits of them shutting all the LOCs back before WFH.

Keep in mind, most departments are understaffed to the point of breaking as is, and on purpose (helps delay claims which = more interest earned on reserves)

Im guessing they will likely increase the amount of time in office though, a testament to managements need to have the most unhappy workforce in the country.

Maybe we will celebrate our EARNED spot as #2 auto insurance company along with extra in office time? Probably time the CEO gets a mega bonus too!

They have already basically fired/ran off everyone! 40% of all employees have been here 2 years or less and 80% of all employees have been here 5 years or less including leadership. You have a handful of tenured people still hanging on in claims and underwriting but they are doing their best to trash these people and get them to leave. 2040/DEI workforce now leading SF to a bright future. Place is a total sh-t hole!

Depending on your area, that is highly doubtful. From a business and optics standpoint, we still need field claims and deployed claims reps to be remote. They can't just fire every remote person, we will still need tenured claim handlers to be there for the customer, it makes for great photos and heartwarming stories.

Now, if you are remote and working ILR/express or some other area that is largely handled within the hubs, that may be a different story. My advice, get to a place that you know won't go anywhere and sit tight through these next two years.

Right now they are punishing people who live near hubs by forcing them into the office, as of now its 5 days a month.

Rumors abound thats going to increase, likely they want higher turnover as a way to reduce costs short term. to he-l with long term.

For a company that is perpetually understaffed, and by design, im not sure why they would do this, but that is the rumor.

I would not expect 100% WFH and expect whatever WFH you do get to change for the worse at some point in the near future.

I expect people who are stuck remote to just have restricted options, or be forced to relocate the next time they force reassign people to whichever claims department is in dire need at that moment.

Also consider, this company seems to want no claims handlers, customer support, or underwriting done by Americans, expect offshoring and AI to heavily impact hiring/employment. Right now they are increasing BPO (off shored workers) to be replacing almost all entry level roles. I think they just kicked all the initial loss report people to claims with forced relocation (aka if your remote you must move to get the claims job)

Sadly all major carriers are doing just this.
