Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

Canon Inc. hates America!

Companies today have seen the challenges with the US economy due to the ongoing tariffs.

Very quietly though have you realize the backlash against the American worker? Canon USA Inc. is holding it against the American workers by continuing to layoff and outsource to contractors in the Philippines.

In addition, we have not received one publication from corporate that didn’t mention the tariffs. The continued downsizing of the American working people is a direct response to the American government.

The company is currently being investigated in Melville for their layoffs that may result in the loss of the tax breaks they received when we moved our corporate HQ.

Canon USA Inc. knows they need to be here for business but doesn’t want to play ball with the people of our country. It’s a sad reality but you may be the next move they make in what they label as a right sizing due to the economic climate.

I simply can no longer trust this company because I feel that I am a targeted employee because I am American.

American hate the fact the he is a snake, routinely while he was a Sr. Dir, he would send out his JPN crew to ask American questions or see where they stood. These JPN guy acted like you friend, meanwhile they were just feeding him with information. He has always and will always put his JPN people first at any level.

Just like when he used to form a line outside Ishizuka or Ogawa’s office with only Japanese people, he is what USA employment laws regards as national origin discrimination or ethnic favoritism, and it is generally illegal under federal law (Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964)

This is what he practices and show all of his Japanese Management at Canon USA

@e7 I’m hearing customer service will be hit within the next few months. They have to break it up to avoid WARN notices. They lost about one-third in the summer of 2024. Not sure of the size for the next round, but given how deep the cuts were to the other departments. I would say at least 25% - 50% will be terminated.

We will forever fight WWII, American innovates, Japan replicates. There is not one single product that Canon Inc has created. They are never first on the market, they follow and imitate that why they need soldier, not innovator or people who think on their own! Get out fast!

I must admit the recent changes and lack of communication make me feel as if we are on borrowed time.

They can’t close their doors overnight but these changes that have been made leave me to believe they are trying to cut costs by outsourcing jobs at the same time sticking it to America.

Sammy is about to take a huge gamble on how the future of Canon distributes their equipment. He is going all in on the dealer network and trusting Mason.

Two problems. Mason is old and will retire soon so his relationships mean nothing. The second problem is Canon has to be competitive with their pricing model to compete again other manufacturers. That will be a challenge even if they get to the dealer network.

My message to Sammy would be simple. Go back to when Ikon once carried Canon. Putting all your eggs in one basket could be the end of our top market share position.

All that said. It’s clear Sammy hates America.

@OP Then the only recourse is form a union. That's about as American it can get.

That said, I agree there's a latent hatred towards Americans.

Absolutely! It’s clear discrimination and psychological abuse/harassment.
